Warning signs of cancer revealed after Ed Sheeran’s wife Cherry Seaborn was diagnosed with a tumour
His chart-topping hits and albums have made him a household name.
But in a documentary released today, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran described how he felt like he was “drowning” after doctors found a tumor in his wife’s arm.
The 32-year-old shared how Cherry Seaborn, 30, was diagnosed with cancer in February last year while six months pregnant with their second child.
On his Disney+ show, titled Ed Sheeran: The Sum Of It All, he burst into tears and admitted to being afraid she was going to die.
The couple have now welcomed their daughter Jupiter and after surgery to remove the tumor, it has not returned.
But with 375,000 Britons and 2 million Americans diagnosed with cancer each year, the symptoms of the disease, such as fatigue and weight loss, are not always obvious to many.
Here, MailOnline reveals some of the cancer warning signs to watch out for.

Health scares: ‘I was diagnosed with cancer at the beginning of the year, which was a huge s*****r,’ Cherry said when doctors couldn’t treat her because of her pregnancy
Unusual lump or swelling
Any lump that does not go away should be taken seriously.
Lumps or swelling in the neck, armpits, stomach, groin, chest, chest or testicle could be a sign of cancer, Cancer Research warns.
If you have a lump that is getting bigger you should see your GP, the NHS says.
Experts say it’s important to regularly check your breasts, armpits, and groin area for new lumps.
Weight loss
Unintentional weight loss can also be a warning sign of cancer.
While minor weight changes are normal, Cancer Research warns that people who experience noticeable weight loss without difficulty should talk to their doctor.
Cancer can cause unexplained weight loss for several reasons.
With colon cancer, for example, weight loss may be caused by a tumor, as it can make you feel sick or bloated and reduce your appetite, says Bowel Cancer UK.
A tumor can also physically block the gut, causing pain in the stomach and similarly keeping you from eating, the charity explains.
Difficult: In his Disney+ documentary, the couple recalled their ‘terrible’ start to 2022 in which Cherry battled cancer
Difficult: When Cherry first went to the doctors she was initially told ‘this is really bad’ and that she had cancer, but after initial scans they found she could be treated post pregnancy
Pain or pain
An ache or pain is the body’s way of communicating that something is wrong.
According to Cancer Research, you should seek medical advice for persistent body aches, as it could be a sign of something more serious.
Pain can be a sign of a tumor, for example, a persistent sore throat can indicate throat cancer and pain in the abdomen can be a sign of colon cancer.
Bleeding or bruising
Bleeding or bruising without hurting yourself could be a warning sign of cancer.
Blood in your poop or pee or even vomiting or coughing up blood are signs common to several types of cancer, according to Cancer Research.
Colon cancer, cervical cancer and also lung cancer can cause unexplained bleeding.
Unexplained bruising can also be a sign of leukemia.
You should also report unusual vaginal bleeding between periods, after sexual intercourse or after menopause to your doctor.
The blood may be red or darker and brown or black, but whatever the color or amount, you should have it checked.
Fatigue
Feeling stressed or having trouble sleeping can be common reasons for feeling more tired than usual.
But if you feel tired all the time, you should see a doctor.
Internal bleeding from a tumor can cause fatigue because it can develop into anemia – when there is a shortage of red blood cells in the body.
You may feel very tired and have pale skin as a domino effect.
Anemia can also cause dizziness and shortness of breath, according to Macmillan.
Soulmates: Ed and Cherry were childhood sweethearts, growing up together in the same city. In 2019 they got married
Heavy night sweats
According to Cancer Research, a fever or heavy sweating at night can be a sign of an infection.
Sweating can also be a side effect of certain medications and is experienced by women around menopause.
However, if you have very heavy and drenched night sweats or an unexplained fever, you should see a doctor.
