Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp appears to pull HAMSTRING while celebrating Diogo Jota’s late winner

Jurgen Klopp appears to pull his HAMSTRING after Diogo Jota’s dramatic winner for Liverpool against Tottenham, after the German sprinted over to roar in the FACE of the fourth official

Jürgen Klopp appeared to pull his hamstring as he celebrated Liverpool’s injury-time winner against Tottenham Hotspur.

The Reds raced to a 3-0 lead in the first 15 minutes at Anfield against a Spurs side who had conceded six in their previous away game at Newcastle last weekend.

Ryan Mason’s side fought back and thought they had leveled the game when Richarlison equalized in stoppage time and thought he had saved an unlikely point.

But Liverpool roared straight back and found a winner deep into added time, as Diogo Jota smashed the winner past Fraser Forster – sending Anfield into a delirium and Klopp celebrating wildly on the bench after securing a 4-3 victory.

The German sprinted over to confront the fourth official and yelled in his face – and those celebrations seem to have come at a price, as it looked like he might have pulled his hamstring during his cheer.

After watching Jota coolly seal victory for Liverpool, Klopp rushed onto the touchline in wild celebrations.

He then slowed quickly and could be seen with his hand gripping the back of his left leg.

The apparent muscle fit came just seconds after the 55-year-old aimed his celebration at the fourth official, an act that earned Klopp a yellow card for his actions.

At the final whistle, Klopp was seen stumbling through the Anfield tunnel and it looks like he could be an unlikely visitor to the Liverpool treatment room this week.

Speaking on commentary for Sky, Gary Neville couldn’t help but be amused at what he’d seen from the Liverpool manager.

“Look at Klopp, I’m just laughing, he has a second-degree tear in his hamstring from his party.” joked Neville.

“I’m sure he’ll go to the Kop and give them a fist pump because of the emotion in this ground.

“They had an absolutely terrible second half in Liverpool and I’m sure he will tear them to shreds in the dressing room for what they did.

But they won the game and he’s in control of this football club so he can have a season like he’s had and they’ll forgive him.’

Liverpool took a three-minute lead against their rivals for a European place through Curtis Jones, before Luis Diaz and then a Mo Salah penalty gave them a commanding lead just 15 minutes into the game.

Tottenham got back into the game before half-time through Harry Kane, with Son Heung-min adding a second for Richarlison’s late equalizer.

Jota’s late winner, however, sees the Reds Spurs jump to 5th in the Premier League.

Liverpool are now two points better off than Mason’s men, having played a game more.
