Nottingham Forest have dealt another blow to their battle against relegation, with the news that Dean Henderson will be ruled out for the rest of the season.
The goalkeeper, who is on season-long loan at Manchester United, has not played for Forest since their 2-0 win over Leicester on January 14, but there were hopes he would be back before the end of the season.
However, according to The TelegraphHenderson has suffered a setback in his recovery from the thigh injury and despite being part of the squad that traveled to Brentford on Saturday, he will be unavailable for the club’s final four games of the season.
It means January recruit Keylor Navas is likely to remain Steve Cooper’s number 1 for the rest of the campaign, and will be in between the sticks for Forest’s crunch match with Southampton next weekend.
The Costa Rican star has proved his worth to Cooper since his arrival from PSG, but doubts are starting to creep in after notable mistakes, including a mistake for Brentford’s two late goals on Saturday.
