Design experts say the fictional billionaire’s swanky homes have become a template

Is Succession’s Logan Roy the next Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen? Design experts say the fictional billionaire’s posh homes in New York and The Hamptons have become a template for thousands of redecorating

His name is synonymous with business intrigue and wealth accumulation.

But in fact, it’s the interior design tastes of billionaire Logan Roy, from the hit TV show Succession, that’s being emulated, rather than his monetization moves.

The ruthless media magnate – played by veteran actor Brian Cox – may have become one of Britain’s most hated TV characters, but his lavish style is inspiring makeovers across the country.

Sarah Link, head of marketing at La Redoute, said: ‘Since the last season of Succession began, we’ve seen more and more of our customers opt for Hamptons-worthy neutrals, wainscoting, natural fabrics and white bookcases.

“Looking at the accompanying Google data, it seems that the pursuit of Roy family-style interiors is a trend that seems to continue. It’s fascinating to see how much our viewing habits can inspire our decorating decisions – and how quickly consumers will switch once interiors capture their imagination.’

Elizabeth Fazzare, of Architectural Digest magazine, commented: ‘Interior design fans will certainly not be happy with the show’s ending. Succession’s jargon-heavy dialogue and fast-paced drama make it hard to tear [ourselves] away from the cast of characters, but we always kept an eye on the sets.

“To play like the one percent, you have to live like them.”
