The actress, 50, who recently showed off her toned abs at the Front Row Daily Fashion Awards, opened up about the phrase in a question-and-answer session in her Instagram Stories.

The founder of Goop was makeup free and wore a black crew neck jumper as she answered a question about how she feels about being “credited for coining the term unconscious coupling” following her amicable breakup with ex-husband Chris Martin .

“I definitely didn’t come up with the phrase,” the Oscar winner clarified. “But I feel like we sacrificed quite a bit for it when we first announced it all those years ago.”

She continued, “I’m very proud that we’ve been able to make some divorces maybe a little bit easier, happier.”
