He rose to fame after his iconic performance on The X Factor in 2012.

And Rylan Clark celebrated 11 years since former judge Nicole Scherzinger connected him to the competition’s live shows on Instagram on Friday.

Former aspiring pop star Rylan, 34, was so overcome with emotion when Nicole, 44, told him he had reached the final stages of the competition, he broke into a sobbing, screaming mess and collapsed to the ground with equal measure of relief and joy.

And while Rylan may not have embarked on a career as an international recording artist, he has made a name for himself as a television host and reality star.

Rylan took to social media this week and posted a photo of himself with his arm draped over Nicole’s shoulder while wearing a gold shirt, captioning his message: “11 years,” along with a red heart emoji.

Rylan put on a show of epic proportions when he learned he had made it to the live final of The X Factor in 2012.

In what was arguably the most dramatic response of all time, he put on an Oscar-worthy performance as he fell to the floor in a fit of emotion.

The then 23-year-old wannabe was rolling on the floor unable to speak as he dealt with his emotions.

Holding back his tears, Rylan let out a series of heartbreaking sobs as Nicole watched in amusement.

The flamboyant singer was finally able to calm down long enough to give his new mentor a big hug and couldn’t believe he was done with it.

‘Is this a whim? Are you wearing me?” he asked.

Rylan later added, “We’re going to have a good laugh.”

But despite his slightly overreaction to the news, Rylan insisted he’s not the prankster of the match.

He said: ‘I think at the beginning of this process everyone looked at me as a bit of a prankster and then people couldn’t be more wrong. I had to go in there and show that I can be serious and be a singer.

‘I don’t have that much at home, I want to turn that around. I want to achieve something instead of remaining a disappointment. I have nothing to go back to now. I have too much to do with this.’

Meanwhile, Nicole said of her act, “Rylan, my dear… he’s all sparkly and sparkly, we need diva music and powerful diva anthems for him.” He would certainly have his own audience.’

It comes after Rylan credited the Eurovision Song Contest for helping him get over his divorce.

The 3presenter had to stop covering the annual competition for the BBC in 2021 because he was so devastated by his breakup with Dan Neal, but flying to Italy for last year’s musical extravaganza was just what he needed to get back to himself. to feel.

He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: ‘Last year I had to leave the UK and the Eurovision bubble was perfect for that.

“It was what I needed on a personal level. Being there was a full circle moment for me. It was like, ‘I’m back, I’m ready to go’.

‘That’s why Eurovision is so important to me. If you cut me open, it’s there.”

But while Rylan enjoyed flirting with the locals in Italy, he’s vowed to behave this year as he’s more likely to be recognized in Liverpool, where the Eurovision Song Contest takes place next month.

He said, ‘I can’t beat around the bush – I have to be on my best behavior. I will pine for the evenings I usually have. But I’m going out anyway.’

The Supermarket Sweep host understands why so many people are passionate about Eurovision because of the way it brings people together for a few hours of ‘escapism’.

He said, “It gives people escapism. It’s a week of the year when we can all be a part of this family.

‘When you’re there, it doesn’t matter which country you come from.

‘Whether you’re gay or straight, whether you’re black or white, none of that matters. Everyone is just together.’

Rylan will be commenting on the BBC One semi-finals, which will air on May 9 and 11.
