Steven Crowder stabs his wife after a video of him verbally abusing her to the press

Steven Crowder has broken his silence after a horrifying video emerged of him berating his heavily pregnant wife.

The political commentator posted a clip to social media on Friday afternoon titled “my statement,” in which he once again lashed out at his estranged wife Hilary.

He targeted her for releasing footage to the press showing him emotionally and verbally abusing her while she was eight months pregnant.

Crowder said Friday that “broken marriages are ugly and people do ugly things in them,” in an apparent attempt to justify his actions.

And he vowed to get the Texas courts to release medical records, mental health histories and statements from their divorce filings or he would do it himself.

It comes a day after a video emerged of him refusing to let Hilary use their only car to get groceries while pregnant with twins.

A statement from his wife’s family said it was evidence of the years of abuse she had had to hide from her relatives as she fought to save her broken marriage.

His apology comes after footage of him berating his wife was leaked to the press

In a post on his Twitter page, the 35-year-old said: “I commented on my ongoing divorce on Tuesday, asking for privacy in the interest of the family, but also by a court order agreed upon by all parties.

Broken marriages are ugly. People do ugly things in it, including myself, of course, and I would never say otherwise.

However, due to recent misleadingly redacted leaks to the tabloid press, out of context and not subject to court consequences…well, if it’s not privacy, the next best option is the truth.

“And so today I filed a motion to officially open all files as they pertain to the issue of legal registration.

“Finances, relevant medical records including history or mental health evaluations, statements, and any motions or sanctions from Texas courts.

“I will NOT leak any private marriage information to the press, but if the privacy agreements are not respected by all parties, next week I will address anything that is an irrefutable legal matter in full context.”

In the video obtained by journalist Yashar Ali and posted on his Substackthe YouTuber can be seen on shocking new Ring footage that shows Hilary struggling to get up while almost eight months pregnant with twins.

He forbids her from using their only car to run errands – as that would mean he can’t go to the gym – and tells her to give their dogs drugs she feared would be toxic to their unborn children.

She eventually snaps at him, saying “your abuse is sick,” but later backs off, repeatedly telling him she loves him as he lays against her while she smokes a cigarette.

The Ring’s CCTV footage, taken on June 26, 2021, shows Crowder smoking on their back patio as Hilary, dressed in a shirt that shows off her big belly, prepares to leave the house.

As she reaches for the keys, Crowder could be seen insisting she’s not taking their only car, saying, “I’ve drawn a line.” You don’t take the car.’

When Hilary asks why she can’t take the car to run errands, Crowder replies, “Because if you refuse to do women’s things, I’ll go get groceries.”

He also asks her if she respects men, to which she replies that she does.

He also asks her if she respects men, to which she replies that she does.

Apparently trying to come to an agreement, she asks if he would feel more comfortable if she asked someone to pick her up, to which Crowder suggests taking an Uber.

He becomes visibly more agitated and explains that if Hilary takes the car, he won’t be able to go to the gym or see his parents or his friends.

“The only way out is discipline and respect,” you heard him say to Hilary. “It’s the only way out.”

At that point, Hilary, seemingly increasingly frustrated, says to Steven, “I love you. But Steven, your abuse is sick.’ She says, ‘I love you. I love you very much.’

But Crowder says her love is “insincere,” arguing that if she’s committed to their marriage, she should put on gloves to give the dogs medicine.”

In the end, Hilary decides to leave the situation, after which, Ali reports based on witness statements, Crowder became even angrier and shouted, “I’ll be kidding you.”

Ali reports that both Hilary and Crowder said he immediately backed off when he realized what he said, but at that point Hilary was scared and left.

He also tells her to

He also tells her to “perform womanly duties” as he asks her not to take their only car to run errands as it would leave him at home.

In December of that year, Ali reports, Hilary filed for divorce after learning that her husband had hired a divorce lawyer a month earlier.

Crowder then announced on his podcast, Louder with Crowder, on Tuesday that he is in the process of getting a divorce.

“I’ve lived with a proverbial boot around my neck for years,” Crowder said.

“Since 2021, I’ve been going through an increasingly gruesome divorce.”

Crowder said his marriage ended for reasons related to growing apart naturally, rather than infidelity or abuse.

“And no, this was not my choice,” he added. “My wife at the time decided she didn’t want to get married anymore and in the state of Texas that’s perfectly allowed.”

Crowder called it the most heartbreaking experience of his life and considers the divorce his “deepest personal failure.”

He went on to say that he and his ex-wife Hilary have decided to keep the divorce matter private for the safety of their two children.

“In all of this, one thing I want to be very clear about is certain. The real north here is that my kids are flawless, completely flawless, which is why we’ve decided to resolve these issues privately because it’s in their best interests both emotionally and physically.”

It’s not yet clear if the divorce has been finalized, but Crowder says it’s an issue he’s been dealing with for “years.”

“I loved a woman so much that I married her,” Crowder said.

“A woman who, despite all this, I still love as a mother to my children and who wanted something different in her life.

“That’s not my choice, she just wanted to leave and the law says that’s how it works.”
