Petition to ban Katie Price from owning pets soars to 26K

A petition calling for Katie Price to be banned from keeping animals has garnered 26,000 signatures following the death of several of her pets.

The glamor model, 44, has dealt with a slew of tragedies over the past six years, including the deaths of dogs, a horse and even a chameleon in her care.

The Change.org petition was launched three years ago and within a year of being posted the number rose to 10,000, but in the wake of her Pomeranian Sharon’s death in November, the petition has resurfaced to garner an additional 16,000 supporters.

Critics behind the petition posted an update in November that made a host of claims — including that her animals died from lack of care, were left to live in dirt and feces, and were trained to attack.

The petition’s impassioned update read: ‘A puppy has died in the care of Katie Price in the last 24 hours. She bought this puppy three weeks ago for her 13-year-old child. Who died in an accident that no one witnessed…

‘Over the past five years, more animals have died due to lack of care. Horses, dogs, cats, lizards, hedgehogs. This is not some family tragedy. It’s normal at Katie Price’s house. Two dogs have been hit…

‘Puppies were found drowning in a neglected swimming pool. A horse was hit on a highway. Animals just disappear into her house never to be seen again. Her guard dog broke into her neighbor’s yard and killed their chickens…

A dog trained to attack humans. Also ripped apart her cat. The neglect [is] seen on her show My Crazy Life. Cat poop with mold on it. Dog poop is just on the floor. Clothes are dumped everywhere…

‘Alger [sic] growing in her pool where her puppy drowned. She jokes about her filthy mansion. But it’s no joke that animals are dying because of her lack of care…

Being left alone to die prematurely and no one says “enough is enough” and continues to sell her animals. For three weeks, a bulldog puppy named Rola was in her care…

“Nobody knows, not even them, how it died. We have to stop this now that no more animals have to die.’

Following the update, sources told The Sun: “It’s shocking to see the conditions these poor dogs are living in…

“After all that has happened to Katie’s pets in the past, you’d think she’d go above and beyond for her dogs, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

“She may have renovated her house, but the dogs don’t seem to benefit and are still living in misery.”

In 2020, Katie’s dog Rolo suffocated in her home, while her Alsatian Sparkle was mowed down in February of the same year, in shocking echoes of the death of her dog Queenie, who was killed in 2018.

In July 2020, Katie was criticized by animal rights activists after Rolo’s choking. The French bulldog died after getting trapped in an electric recliner while the reality star was packing some bags in another room, The Mirror reported.

Rolo was given to her daughter Princess as a birthday present and is the third dog of the family to die in tragic circumstances.

Katie later revealed her shock after being illegally advised to give cannabis oil to her deceased puppy Rolo before he “choked to death in an armchair.”

The late French bulldog, who was bought as a gift for her daughter Princess’s 13th birthday, fell asleep under an electric chair after having the non-psychoactive cannabis derivative and later ‘suffocated’ after the family’s nanny sat on the chair .

Katie told the Mirror she was unaware it was illegal to give dogs the substance without a vet’s prescription, in accordance with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations 2013.

Rolo’s death came just months after the tragic death of her Alsatian Sparkle when she ran onto a busy road outside her previous home. She was killed on the A24 after escaping from Katie’s home, which she has since moved out of and is on the market.

One of Katie’s horses was tragically killed on the same road in 2017 after escaping from a field.

The star, 41, faced another tragedy in 2018 when her Alsatian Queenie was hit and killed by a delivery boy.

The star took to Instagram to pay tribute to her one-year-old German Shepherd, gifted to her by then-husband Kieran Hayler in 2016.

She wrote: “I am absolutely devastated, heartbroken, my faithful, loving family dogs Queenie’s life has been cut short when she was killed by a heartless delivery driver who ran into our dog when he saw her struggle and drove off without telling us and her left very disappointed to die so heartless can a man be! The driver was initially reported to be from pizza giant Domino’s, but company bosses refuted claims that their driver was to blame.

A Domino’s spokesperson said in a statement to OK! Online: “We were very sorry to hear this news and sent our sincere condolences to Mrs. Price

“Our investigation revealed that our driver mistakenly called Ms. Price’s premises on the security gate intercom while attempting to deliver an order to a neighbour.

When she realized the mistake, GPS tracking reveals she went straight to the correct address. Our driver stayed on public roads and had no access to Mrs. Price’s land.

‘Our driver has a clean, valid EU driving license and claims she has not hit any animals. She has voluntarily contacted the police, but has been told that no criminal charges are pending. We want to understand what happened and have asked Ms. Price to share the CCTV footage to help our investigation.”

“Unfortunately, despite repeated requests, we are still unable to obtain a crime reference number or see the CCTV Katie mentioned, to aid our investigation.”
