Naomi Watts LAUGHS off engagement speculation with boyfriend Billy Crudup

Just a day after Naomi Watts was spotted in New York City wearing a massive ring, the actress continued to stir up engagement speculation with boyfriend Billy Crudup.

Watts, 54, appeared on Today on Thursday and discussed ending the stigma surrounding menopause, with hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie.

Near the end of the chat, Kotb joked that her “eye hurt,” suggesting it was because of the “glint” of the massive ring on Watts’ left ring finger.

“It’s like a big glint coming out of a ring here,” Kotb said with a smile, as Watts began to laugh.

“It just caught my eye, but it’s beautiful,” Kotb said, showing a close-up of the ring that many speculate is her engagement ring… though she declined to confirm.

Guthrie added, “You wear it well,” as Kotb added, “Whatever you wear, you wear it beautifully.”

The Australian actress has not publicly addressed speculation that her boyfriend of six years Billy Crudup popped the question.

She was first spotted wearing this huge diamond ring on her left ring finger last week when she was spotted on a road trip with some friends.

Yet neither Watts nor Crudup have confirmed the engagement or discussed the ring Watts is wearing.

The road trip was also her first time seen since her ex Liev Schreiber, 54, announced he is expecting his first child with 31-year-old girlfriend Taylor Neisen.

Watts and Schreiber share two children, Alexander “Sasha,” 16, and Samuel Kai, 15, from their 11-year relationship that ended in 2016.

Watts and Crudup first met on the set of the Netflix series Gypsy in 2017 and they’ve been together ever since, though they’ve largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.

Since their split, Naomi and Liev continue to co-parent with their blended families. Last May, Naomi and her partner, Billy, were seen in an Instagram selfie celebrating Kai’s graduation.

Their other son, Alexander, as well as Naomi’s ex, Liev and his girlfriend, Taylor, were also seen in the photo as they all smiled cheerfully for the cameras.

During an earlier interview with PorterEdit in 2019, the actress told The Impossible about their blended families and co-parenting together. ‘We do it very differently.’

“I’m quite proud of us, trite as that may sound. We have made it our absolute priority to be good and kind to each other and we are absolutely committed to that.”
