The fashion designer was the creative designer for both Chanel, Fendi and his own label.

He also collaborated with Chloe, Patou and Balmain during his career in fashion.

Up websiteVogue gave some styling advice to the lucky few who will be invited to attend the Met Gala this year, sharing a list of “approaches” they can take when it comes to paying tribute to Karl.

“The first, most authentic approach would be to wear an archival look from one of the labels Lagerfeld ran,” it suggested.

“The second would be to wear modern Chanel or Fendi, two houses on which Lagerfeld left an indelible impression.”

The final recommendation was for guests to find their own version of Karl’s beloved cat, Choupette, and “dress up a la Lagerfeld.”

As a final piece of advice, the famed fashion magazine suggested that anyone angling for a spot on the best dressed list would do well to model a “look with originality.”

Kim Kardashian transformed into Marilyn Monroe for the 2022 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

She arrived in the late star’s $5 million gown she wore in 1962 to wish President John F. Kennedy a happy birthday.
