Tyrese Gibson responds to a judge ordering him to pay $250K in back child support

Just a day after a judge ordered him to pay $237,000 in back child support and an additional $399,000 to her lawyers, Tyrese Gibson reveals he intends to challenge the decision.

The 44-year-old actor was spotted at LAX on Wednesday, where he was asked about the verdict against him to pay his ex Samantha Lee Gibson.

When asked how he’s holding up after the decision, Gibson said, “I’m inspired,” adding that it wasn’t all about him.

“What just happened today happens every day in the family court system. Fathers have no rights. Period,” Gibson said.

“So, the bigger the a** – whopping I get in court, the more it will shed light on what’s been going on since the beginning of time,” Gibson added.

“It’s just not about me. I will never take care of my daughters whether I am with their mother or not,” Gibson said of his daughters, 15-year-old Shayla and four-year-old Soraya.

“But it’s not okay to call us deadly fathers when we’re hustling, grinding, traveling, doing whatever it takes to put food on the table and provide for our family, which of course would lead us to be physically being away from our kids, and then that’s used against us in court because the mother might be more available than you,” Gibson added.

“And then, if you don’t have a job and you’re struggling and trying to get it done, regardless of a pandemic, we’re emasculated,” Gibson said.

“So at the end of the day he just drew the biggest light imaginable on him, his behavior, he literally made things up on the spot,” Gibson added, referring to the judge, adding what he did was an “abuse.” in force.’

The Fast & Furious franchise star was ordered by Farmer last August to pay $10,690 a month in child support to Samantha on behalf of their four-year-old daughter Soraya.

Gibson refused to pay because he felt the judge, who publicly berated him as he testified on the stand, was “racist” and biased against him.

Farmer punished Gibson for refusing to pay by giving him contempt of court.

Gibson could have been arrested, but the judge released him.

He was ordered to pay $237,944 in back child support for Soraya, plus $399,000 for Samantha’s attorney fees. Gibson also had to pay $17,000 for the special master appointed by the judge to handle disputes during the case.

Samantha’s attorney Adam Gleklen said Samantha wanted to raise Soraya with Tyrese, followed the court’s orders and wholeheartedly moved forward.
