Ian Wright fires back at his son after Man City beat Arsenal

‘He’s so annoying!’: Ian Wright fires back at son Shaun Wright-Phillips after ex-Man City winger mocked his Arsenal supporting dad for 4-1 loss… with Match of the Day star following more respect from ‘boy’ he ‘learned how to pee!’

Ian Wright thinks ‘annoying’ son Shaun Wright-Phillips should show him a little more respect after Arsenal were rammed by Manchester City.

Wright-Phillips, who made two appearances for City, couldn’t help but mock his father’s support for Arsenal after the Gunners were beaten 4-1 in a huge clash between the Premier League title contenders.

‘Hello @IanWright0, how are you?’ Wright-Phillips tweeted. “Just checking in… I hope you’re well, Dad.”

Match of the Day host Gary Lineker couldn’t resist relaying the message – in case Wright hadn’t seen it himself – live on air.

“He’s so annoying!” Wright returned fire. “I taught him how to pee this boy… he still can’t reach the toilet now!”

With co-expert Alan Shearer in hysterics beside him, Lineker replied, “He’s definitely peeing right now!”

Fans loved the fact that Wright-Phillips had no compassion for his father in a game where the stakes were high.

Previously, Wright had responded to the tweet with a crying emoji, matching how Arsenal fans reacted to such a one-sided display.

City were in full control from the start and man of the match Kevin De Bruyne gave them an early lead after a clever pairing from Erling Haaland.

Pep Guardiola’s side took a second on the stroke of half-time thanks to a John Stones header, which Arsenal fought fiercely after a lengthy VAR delay.

Attacked again by Haaland, De Bruyne would bring in a third, before Haaland himself came between the goals, breaking the record for goals in a Premier League season of 38 games to make it 4–1. with Rob Holding grabbing an earlier consolation for the Gunners.

The result puts City firmly in control of the title race as they have two games left against Arsenal and are now just two points behind.

“This team has taught me a lot. They put in a season this season that showed they learned a lot from last season,” Wright added.

“Forward and upward.”
