Angelina Jolie models a raincoat as she lands in Washington before White House state dinner

Angelina Jolie has landed in Washington DC.

The 47-year-old Oscar-winning actress was seen Wednesday morning at the Washington Dulles International Airport wearing a beige raincoat with her dark brown hair loose.

The Maleficent actress wore oversized sunglasses with accents around the lenses and little makeup as she held a Celine purse in her arm. The mother of six added black slacks and boots.

DailyMail.com was the first to report that it will become a Hollywood icon to become chairman Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden at the White House on Wednesday for a state dinner honoring South Korea’s president.

A White House official confirmed to DailyMail.com that the actress and her oldest son Maddox will be attending.

There will be 200 guests in total.

Jolie, who is politically active, was at the White House in September 2021 to discuss the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act.

During that trip, she also visited Capitol Hill to lobby Congress on the matter.

She returned to the White House in March 2022 to watch President Biden sign the reauthorization into law.

She took her daughter Zahara to that event, where they met the president.

Jolie has long been active in political and international issues, especially women’s issues and speaks for refugees.

And she will be there to watch President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden host their administration’s second state dinner for South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife Kim Keon-hee on Wednesday.

Guests will don black tie attire to dance and dine under cherry blossoms in the East Room of the White House.

They will enjoy American food with a Korean twist.

The dinner will take place in the East Room of the White House, the largest of the formal rooms on the White House’s state floor.

The menu was designed by Executive Chef Edward Lee, a Korean-American chef known for infusing traditional American classics with Korean flavors.

“That was the first thing I was told — ice cream,” he said during a dinner preview Monday.

A state visit is the highest diplomatic honor the US bestows on its closest allies. Biden’s first went to France last December and took place in a glass tent on the South Lawn. Wednesday night is the first state dinner at the White House.

The first lady and her staff worked with Fête, an events and design firm owned by Korean-American Jung Lee, to help create the theme and setting.

Jill Biden said during the preview of the event on Monday that the setting was to “show the harmony of our cultures and our intertwined people.”

When guests enter the East Room, they see scenic landscape designs featuring some of the most American symbols – American bison, the bald eagle, roses, stars – and Korean images – the Korean magpie and Korean tiger.

This comes after the news that Jolie will be teaming up with Halle Berry in the new action thriller Maude v Maude.

Warner Bros emerged victorious after an “intense multi-studio bidding war” for the project, according to deadline.

Jolie and Berry, 53, will both star and produce the project.

Roseanne Liang (Shadow in the Cloud) directs from a screenplay by Scott Mosier (Free Birds), who both executive produce.

No plot details have been released with the project being described as a “Bond vs. Bourne-type global action thriller,” with locations to be announced at a later date.

This is the first time Jolie, who won an Oscar for Girl Interrupted in 2000, and Berry, who won her Oscar for Monster’s Ball in 2002, have teamed up on screen.

Both are well versed in the action genre, with Jolie starring in two Tomb Raider movies, Mr. and Mrs. Smith with ex-husband Brad Pitt and Salt.

Berry is no stranger to action either, starring as a Bond girl in 2002’s Die Another Day, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, and several X-Men films.

The project first hit the market last weekend and attracted several suitors, although Warner Bros. it eventually won, the latest star-driven package landed by new studio co-heads Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy.

While streaming services have been winning high-profile projects like this lately, Warner Bros.

Berry will produce alongside her producing partner Holly Jeter through their company HalleHolly, which was formed in January 2022 to produce films across a variety of genres for women of color both in front of and behind the camera.

Berry is currently filming Never Let Go for Lionsgate, with Jeter executive producing and Alexandre Aja directing.

Maude v Maude is also produced by Jeff Kirschenbaum and Joe Roth, who will produce through RK Films.

Jolie is currently in post-production on her latest directorial effort, Without Blood, starring Demian Bichir and Salma Hayek, for which Jolie also wrote the screenplay adaptation based on the book by Alessandro Baricco.

While she hasn’t been seen on the big screen since 2021’s Eternals, she has a number of projects in pre-production, including Maleficent 3 and Maria, in which she plays legendary opera singer Maria Callas.

She’s also attached to star in Every Note Played with Christoph Waltz and return as Tigress in the animated sequel Kung Fu Panda 4.
