Denzel takes on the mafia in The Equalizer 3 trailer
The Equalizer movies are generally solid promotional prices that are significantly increased by being led by Denzel freaking Washington. The trailer for the final episode was released on Tuesday, giving us a sneak peek at the “Denzel vs. the Mafia” thriller set to hit theaters this fall.
Denzel’s Robert McCall is now building a home in southern Italy, with friends and what seems like a happy life. But when the mafia steps in and threatens the lives of the people he cares about, he returns to his old habits of brutal violence.
There’s something about the way Denzel calmly tells the bad guys he’s going to destroy them in these movies – a mobster jokingly asks, “Are you warning me?” and Denzel replies “I’m prepping you” before ruining that guy’s (and his tracksuit) whole month.
Director Antoine Fuqua, who has worked with Denzel many times throughout his career and directed the first two Equalizer films, also returns for this one. Dakota Fanning, with whom Denzel played in the excellent Man on fire (2004), is also in the film and appears at the very end of the trailer.
The equalizer 3 hits theaters September 1.
