GOP Sen. Joni Ernst blasts President Biden on the day of his 2024 reelection announcement, warning that the Democrat is putting American taxpayers on the rails and contributing to a suffering economy with his economic policies .

“The president is on the wrong track and that’s misleading taxpayers,” Ernst told the DailyMail.com after Biden’s announcement.

Ernst, who serves as vice chair of the Senate GOP conference, introduces the “Dollar Boondoggle Act,” which an aide said would “expand transparency requirements to any taxpayer-funded project.”

It will work hand in hand with the ‘Put the Brakes on Boondoggles Act” – introduced at the last Congress – which would end the government’s “runaway” spending.

The aim of the legislation would be to account for the massive government-funded projects, including those that were greenlit in Biden’s signature $1 trillion infrastructure bill, which took effect in 2021.

The president is expected to continue touting his infrastructure bill as he heads into the campaign.

She specifically points to the California High-Speed ​​Train project, which was expected to cost taxpayers $33 billion when completed in 2020.

Ernst said Biden is “committing” $4.6 billion, including $500 million from the budget to help complete the project.

Biden officially announced his 2024 reelection campaign in a video posted to Twitter Tuesday morning.

“When I ran for president four years ago, I said we’re in a battle for the soul of America—and we still are. The question we face is whether we have more or less freedom, more rights or less in the coming years,” Biden said.
