Driver’s dashcam captures him knocking over a little girl in quiet street and dad’s angry reaction 

A little girl has made an incredible escape after being hit by a car and knocked over on a quiet suburban street.

The camera on the driver’s dashboard captured the shocking moment when he slammed on the brakes when the girl suddenly ran into the street – and also captured her father’s angry reaction.

The video, posted by Dash cam owners Ausshowed the driver driving down a narrow suburban street, driving between cars parked on either side.

Nine seconds later, a little girl carrying a doll ran into the street from the left, and the driver slammed on the brakes.

But it was too late, and as the brakes squealed, there was also a sickening thump as the little girl was hit, fell to the ground and rolled a few times.

Incredibly, she appeared to escape serious injury when she immediately got to her knees.

In a split second, her furious father ran out onto the road, banging his fist on the hood and yelling at the driver before going to collect his daughter.

When he picked up his screaming daughter, the father shouted “What have you done?” at the driver.

With the sound of his door opening, the driver asked, “Is she okay?” Is she okay?’

Commentators were mixed in their opinions on whether the driver was the hero or villain of what happened.

One of them said he was “always aware of webcam videos that don’t include details like speed. That guy did it closer to 60 than he did to 40.

“Luckily the boy is still alive, that hit would be enough to kill someone.”

But the video poster replied, “If you think that’s 40 mph, get your head checked.”

Others praised what they said was the driver’s quick thinking.

“The reflexes of the drivers were perfect, well done,” wrote one.

“His reflexes saved the poor girl,” said another, who also asked why the father hit the car.

Another poster agreed, writing ‘he’s mad at the driver???? bad father.’

One commentator spoke for many by saying: ‘Great reaction, this result would be much worse for most drivers.

“Understand the dad is frustrated, but he should be MUCH more thankful for the driver stopping so quickly.”

Another poster tried to see both sides of the argument, writing, “To add some balance to these comments, we can focus less on the father who foolishly went to the car… and instead on the fact that this man clearly much too fast for such a narrow street.

“His quick reaction time prevented further damage from his poor driving,” they said.
