West Tigers Brandon Wakeham’s sled that almost caused a post-match fight in the changing rooms was aimed at his teammate’s brother, it has been revealed.
Wakeham reportedly taunted young male debutant Samuela Fainu for missing a tackle after the Tigers crossed for a 64th-minute effort.
Wakeham’s actions caused a heated verbal exchange in the players’ tunnel after the match, with Manly’s Josh Aloiai having to be pulled away by teammates.
It turns out that West’s Magpies propagandist Sione Fainu, Wakeham’s teammate, isn’t happy either, as Samuela is his little brother.
The Daily Telegraph reported that Sione was furious that Wakeham had sled his relative and made no secret of it after the match.

Wakeham and Sione Fainu have played together several times this season, the last two weeks ago they joined forces on the pitch.
Wakeham also attended the same high school as the Fainu brothers, Westfields Sports High School.
New allegations allege that Samuela Fainu spat in Wakeham’s face during the game, leading to an on-field scuffle.
Audio obtained by the Herald confirms that Wakeham informed referee Todd Smith that Fainu ‘spit at me … he spat at my face’ in the 65th minute.
Smith is then heard to say to the Tigers playmaker, “Okay, do you want to make a complaint about that?”
Wakeham chose not to make an official complaint to the referee.
The situation boiled over over an hour into the game when Aloiai reportedly told Wakeham, “You were talking a bit there. No, man, it’s not on, that went too far.’
Aloiai also reportedly told Wakeham to ‘come around the corner’ if he wanted to ‘talk shit’.

The situation boiled over more than an hour after the game when Aloiai (pictured) reportedly told Wakeham: ‘You were talking a bit there. No, man, it’s not on, that went too far.’
Aloiai was dragged back to the Manly barns, before Wakeham followed him into the chambers to continue the argument.
Wakeham was then ordered back to the Tigers sheds and allegedly said, “Bro, it was nothing.”
