Los Angeles Lakers star D’Angelo Russell seemed to be having a good time during his post-game press conference Saturday, when he ended the press staff by promoting his own drink.

The 27-year-old guard sat down for his media duties following his team’s 111-101 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 3 of their playoff series and appeared to be in a jovial mood.

Russell arrived with a ‘Coco 5’ water bottle but was told to take it off the table.

“That drink, put it down,” an NBA press officer told him.

He asked why, to which the league official said, “Because it’s not one of our partners.”

Russell then quipped, “It’s my partner, you’re going to have to fine me,” before plugging in the brand.

The NBA employee walked over to remove the bottle from the table, and Russell added, “You’ll have to take it.”

As the Lakers star wrapped up his press conference, he continued to promote the “Coco 5” brand by repeating it over the microphone several times.

Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns and Derrick Rose of the New York Knicks are among the other basketball players who have partnerships with the sports drink company owned by James Reynolds – the creator of Loop Capital Markets.

Anthony Davis had 31 points and 17 rebounds, LeBron James finished with 25 points after Dillon Brooks was ejected for hitting him in the groin, as the Lakers survived Ja Morant’s fourth quarter by 24 points to beat the Memphis Grizzlies Saturday night defeat.

Morant scored 45 points in his return after a one-game absence with a sore right hand, even scoring 22 consecutive points during his stunning fourth quarter as Memphis attempted to recover from an early 29-point deficit.
