Bertie Carvel, who starred in the hit series Doctor Foster, has hinted there’s a chance for a new series of the popular drama.
The actor, 45, admitted ‘never say never’ when questioned about the future of the show, which last aired in 2017.
Despite being a treat for fans, the series only ran for two seasons from 2015-2017 – leaving fans with a cliffhanger.
Bertie’s character, who portrays property developer Simon on the show, was married to GP Gemma Foster (played by Suranne Jones) but had a secret affair with a college student named Kate (Jodie Comer).
Speaking to TV Mag in a new interview, the star gave his own take on where the characters could be right now.

In the second series, Betie’s character struggled with his mistakes and his teenage son, Tom, went missing, leaving fans with a cliffhanger when it was finalized.
Despite the unknown ending leaving room for a new series, neither the show nor the BBC have ever confirmed a third.
Since his appearance on the show, Bertie has been kept busy with a starring role in the drama series Dalgliesh.
The actor played the titular detective role and previously explained that he drew from his own personal experiences to get into the character.
He said: ‘The story I was making in Dalgliesh was about a year of grief, and it intersected with my own experience in a challenging way.
“My mother died in November 2019, and that and the birth of my son that followed closely are the linchpin of my life.”
He called the experience “healing,” and continued, “I won’t be the same in my job, so that was challenging, but it was also healing and therapeutic.”
He now envisioned the characters, sharing, “I imagine Gemma and Simon are still alive in that version of the multiverse, and if they’re not in one, they’ll be in another…”
