Sam Smith postpones Gloria the Tour Glasgow gig just hours before show
Sam Smith pulled out of their Glasgow gig on Saturday after being stricken with a mysterious virus.
The singer, 30, took to their Instagram Stories on Friday to tell fans they wouldn’t be able to perform at the OVO Hydro Arena in the Scottish city this weekend because they weren’t good enough.
Pop star Sam explained how she and their team felt “very unwell” but that they would reschedule the performance until next month.
Sam wrote on Instagram: ‘Sailors, I’m sorry to say so, but we have to move the Glasgow show to May 25, 2023.
‘Myself and a large part of my team have been affected by a virus, which has really made us unwell.

“It was also very important to me that we had another date to move this to immediately.

It comes after Sam ‘personally invited’ Gemma Collins to meet them at London’s O2 Arena as part of their GLORIA tour on Wednesday.
Going to her Instagram, fmore TOWIE star Gemma, 42, shared a cute clip of the pair dancing to one of Sam’s songs.
Gemma labeled the experience as a moment she will ‘never forget’ and was beaming from ear to ear next to the singer.
On her social media, Gemma quoted one of Sam’s songs and said, “I’m not here to make friends.

Sam has recently been at the center of harsh criticism from online trolls for their choice of clothes on stage, as some branded the performer satanic, with the star also previously revealing that they were shockingly spat on in the street after announcing they weren’t. -binary.
However, Sam has continued to dismiss any negative comment and taunts as they continue to maintain confidence in their performance art and strong public image.
Sam sparked 100 Ofcom complaints with the BRITs this year, where they performed their single Unholy alongside Kim Petras, 30, at London’s O2 Arena in February.
Performer Sam dressed up as the devil, complete with horns coming out of their hats, a similar look to the one they wore at the Grammys the week before.
An Ofcom spokesperson told MailOnline: ‘We received 106 complaints about the Brit Awards on ITV1 on 11 February.
“The majority of the complaints were about Sam Smith’s performance, the rest about the use of abusive language and alcohol consumption.”
It came just a week after Grammy viewers criticized Sam and Kim for their “satanic” performance of Unholy.
Sam was seen sporting horned headgear in the horror movie-inspired performance, and viewers flocked to social media to share their frustrations with the “demonic” themes.
One tweeted, “I know on the right we probably overuse the word satanic, but this Sam Smith performance is literally a tribute to Satan.”

After the performance, host Trevor Noah immediately joked that the satanic themes would outrage some viewers.
While pretending to be on the phone with his mother, he was heard to say, “No, Mom, it wasn’t the real devil… Yeah, you warned me about Hollywood.”
