TikTok goes into meltdown over influencer chopping limes with fake nails using a meat cleaver

TikTok gets confused about influencer chopping limes with cleaver with claw-like fake nails: ‘How do you cook like that?’

An Australian foodie trying to create a popular recipe has gone viral for all the wrong reasons after TikTok users were shocked by his extremely long fake nails.

Michael Finch, a 26-year-old influencer known for his cooking videos, shared a video of him preparing Brazilian lemonade with his 588,300 followers.

The unique recipe has made waves on the video-sharing app, but Michael’s version stood out among the thousands of clips doing the rounds.

In the video, Michael is seen chopping limes with a meat cleaver, but has trouble picking them up due to his claw-like, coffin-shaped nails.

He also has trouble pressing the buttons on his blender and opening a can of condensed milk.

Fans flocked to the comments section to laugh at how Michael tried to adapt the recipe around his French nails, which also contained silver beads.

“The nails and the can of condensed milk caused stress,” one wrote.

“What I learned with nails is that the more you think about it, the harder it is to do things. Just try to do them normally [with] no overthinking. It’s much easier than it looks,” said another.

“Are you new to wearing nails?” one fan asked, adding a crying-laughing emoji.

The video was first shared on Michael’s TikTok in February, but was recently reposted by the Instagram account Influencer Updates AU.

“This video is too funny not to share,” the account’s admin wrote, prompting one follower to comment, “I can’t do the nails.”

“I think it’s the nails that make it funny,” one wrote.

“I’ve never had long or fake nails from wearing contact lenses… how do people do normal things with nails like that?” asked another.

However, some didn’t quite understand what the fuss was all about, pointing out that it’s normal to have complicated nails these days.

“I kept watching and waiting for the funny part and now I’m not sure if I’m just stupid,” one follower wrote.

He recently made an “addictive” Persian Shirazi-inspired feta salad that’s easy to mix up.

“I’ve literally made this salad three times in the last three weeks just because it’s so good,” he said.

It’s literally so addictive. Delicious as a side dish or with corn chips.’

Previously, Michael tried his hand at the viral butterboard trend he dubbed the new “charcuterie board.”

To make the butter board, Michael first spread organic butter on a board, then sea salt and goat cheese.

He sprinkled apricot jam, dried apricots, truffle honey with macadamia nuts and edible flowers over the butter.

The foodie served the dip with sourdough bread.
