Coronation Street’s Ryan Prescott shows his horrific acid attack injuries while filming trial scenes

Ryan Prescott of Coronation Street barely hid his acid attack injuries under a purple hoody as he joined his co-stars to film the final day of the trial in Bolton on Tuesday.

Ryan, who plays Ryan Connor on the show, arrived to film alongside stars like Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley, the target of the attack.

The actor, 34, held a cup of coffee while already in his special-effects make-up and wearing prosthetics that resembled deep scars on the side of his face and neck.

The stars film the trial of stalker Justin Rutherford (played by Andrew Still), who tried to throw acid on Daisy on her wedding day – but was foiled when Ryan got in the way.

Also pictured was Alison King (Carla Connor) who has returned to the soap to support Ryan in the months following the attack.

However, Charlotte looked cheerful as she took breaks between filming the harrowing courtroom scenes – as viewers still have a few more weeks to wait to hear the verdict of the trial.

On the March 27 episode, Daisy’s wedding day was thrown into chaos when her stalker Justin came to the Rovers after she had him arrested for assaulting her.

Justin went over to Daisy with a glass full of clear liquid and told Daisy no one wants her after this, but as he threw the acid, Ryan quickly stepped between them and took full force.

Since then, episodes have focused on Ryan’s recovery as he faces his horrific injuries — as Justin pleaded not guilty to the assault on Monday night’s episode.

In the Wednesday night edition of Corrie, acid attack victim Ryan will prepare to look at his horrific injuries for the first time.

The Weatherfield local’s planned move to Ibiza with Crystal Hyde, where he hoped to start a new career as a DJ, is all but over after he was taken to hospital with burns to his face, arm and upper body.

And with the returning Carla Connor on hand to provide some much-needed emotional support, he informs the surgeon that he’s finally ready to view his facial disfigurement.

Grimly observing his reflection after being given a mirror, Ryan discovers that his wounds have not healed successfully – meaning he is in dire need of a skin graft.

“For Ryan, I don’t think he expects it to be as bad as it is,” Ryan Prescott, who plays the character, said in a recent press release.

“He’s never seen any major burns so he doesn’t know what to expect and because he’s been wearing bandages for so long he gets into a little comfort zone just wearing the bandage.

“Once his facial injuries are revealed to him, it knocks out of him again. The first looks are heartbreaking. The first time he sees his face, he thinks, “I’ll never have love in my life again.” I’m going to be the one people look at on the street.”

At that point, all those feelings he was trying to ignore come to the surface and he realizes that this is impossible to heal and it will seem like his burns weren’t there. ‘

He added: “It confirms to him that this will affect every aspect of the rest of his life, no matter what. ‘

Ryan was dealt another devastating blow after he began exploring the idea of rekindling his romance with Alya while contemplating an entirely different future for himself.

However, the character was left crushed as after admitting that he loves her, Alya admitted that while she will always be there for him, she no longer has any romantic feelings for him.

Shocked: “He’s never seen big burns before, so he doesn’t know what to expect,” Ryan Prescott, who plays the character, said in a recent press release

He said, “One of the things we wanted to include was having longevity within the parameters of soap opera, which of course moves very quickly. We wanted to have a kind of longevity in the aftermath.

Acid attack survivors go through hundreds of surgeries, multiple skin grafts, and often a lifetime of post-traumatic stress disorder.

“We want to show the different stages of his recovery.”

“I just saw the acid attack on #Corrie. Very chilling. To be honest, I don’t know why soaps have to be so dark,” a second added.
