Aussie influencer is slammed for revealing she killed two cats as a child in bizarre podcast episode

A Sydney influencer is facing backlash and has been dropped by a major sponsor after she joked on a podcast about killing two cats when she was a child.

Emma Claiir, a 28-year-old mummy blogger and Instagram model, shared the bizarre confession in the latest episode of her Just chaotic podcast.

The mom of one was asked to share a personal secret, leaving her co-host Kristy Jean baffled by confessing, “I killed my cat.”

Chuckling awkwardly, Emma continued, “I didn’t mean to… I was young, I was a child.

“I waved my cat like I thought it was just a hug. And I accidentally released it.”

Emma clarified that the animal died “from fright” of the experience, rather than injuries from being flung across the room.

After sharing a brief giggle with her co-presenter, Emma added: ‘I just want to say I’m giggling about it now. But this happened for years and years and years [ago]. And, like, I was fucking a little kid.”

Incredibly, Emma admitted that she also “accidentally killed her best friend’s cat.”

“To the people who are offended by my story in today’s Simply Chaotic episode I just shared… It happened 21 years ago. I was a little kid…accidents happen and you all need to chill,” she raged.

“I wish I wasn’t listening to that… that’s not humor at all. That is really traumatizing’, another agrees.

Someone else added, “I would have expected it to be an accident as a 2-year-old or younger, but at 9?”

However, several users jumped up to defend Emma, commenting, “How does this offend people? She made a mistake as a small child.’

“It wasn’t meant to come across that way because it was just a story from the past about an accident made as a little kid, but I can see how it came across that way,” she continued.

Emma said she had “taken time to reflect on her actions” and had come to the conclusion that it was “not something she was proud of” as the incident affected her entire family.

She reiterated that she has definitely “grown up” and has been a loving pet owner for “several cats and dogs” ever since.

“Once again, my sincerest apologies to those affected by an accident that happened in the PST and I hope we can leave it at that,” she concluded.
