Drain the swamp! Donald Trump vows to FIRE US government employees who fail civil service test
Dry the swamp! Donald Trump makes new campaign pledge and vows to fire U.S. government employees who fail civil service test if re-elected to the White House
Former President Donald Trump has vowed to fire US government employees who fail a proposed civil service test.
The real estate mogul made the commitment in a campaign video released this weekend that aired last year during the Mar-a-Lago raid.
“I will require every federal employee to pass a new civil service test, demonstrating understanding for our constitutionally limited government,” he said.
The 76-year-old said they would be forced to answer questions about “due process rights, equal protection, freedom of expression (and) freedom of religion.”
In a thinly veiled reference to the removal of documents at his exclusive residence in Florida, Trump said officials would be expected to “refresh Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable seizure and search.”
He added: “We will put unelected bureaucrats back in their places.”
Donald Trump has repeatedly destroyed the so-called ‘deep state’ since entering politics in 2015 when he first ran for the White House
The former commander-in-chief has repeatedly railed against the so-called “Deep State” since his first White House nomination in 2015.
Last March, Trump said he wanted a new law passed that would allow the president to fire any U.S. government employee who works for the executive branch.
During his presidency, he repeatedly attacked top officials, such as former FBI director James Comey or US Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
The potential Republican nominee leading GOP polls is currently embroiled in a series of lawsuits and investigations.
He was indicted in Manhattan earlier this month and arraigned on 34 charges related to alleged hush money payments, including to ex-porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump has denied ever having sexual relations with the former adult film actress.
A group of Republicans, led by Congressman Jim Jordan of Ohio, is suing District Attorney Alvin Bragg in an attempt to get that case off the table.
Republican Congressman Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, has filed his own lawsuit to block the Manhattan “hush money” case brought by District Attorney Alvin Bragg
Trump has repeatedly denied claims by Stormy Daniels that he had an affair with her while married to his Slovenian model wife Melania
Special Counsel Jack Smith is also investigating his handling of classified documents and his alleged attempts to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump continues to make baseless claims that the vote was rigged in favor of Joe Biden.
And earlier on Monday, a New York judge cleared a civil lawsuit against the one-time reality TV star set to continue next week.
His lawyers had tried to delay the defamation and battery suit brought by Elle columnist E Jean Carroll.
Carroll sued Trump in November, alleging he defamed her by calling her a liar when he denied her claim that he raped her in the 1990s.
She added a battery charge under a recently passed New York law that allows adult survivors of sexual abuse to sue their alleged attacker regardless of the statute of limitations.
Trump has repeatedly denied Carroll’s allegations.
But his apparent legal troubles haven’t deterred Republican donors, as his 2024 campaign raked in $34 million since the start of the year.
