Billie Shepherd hits back at trolls who accused her of bagging free getaways

Billie Shepherd defiantly hit back at trolls who accused her of packing free vacations on Sundays.

The former TOWIE star, 33, has been to the Maldives with her husband Greg and three children where they filmed their show The Family Diaries on ITV.

But some trolls took to the comments under her holiday Instagrams this week to express their annoyance that she was on a “free trip.”

However, one fan defended Billie – to which the star replied herself by saying that ITV had not, in fact, paid for the outing.

The fan said after seeing the troll’s comments, “These comments are ridiculous!! Some people need a serious talk with themselves. Don’t like what you see unfollowed? It’s not a free holiday or it would say add! So what if it was???

“Most of us would jump at the chance for a free vacation to our local coast, let alone halfway around the world in paradise!” They work hard and can spend their money however they want!!! Stop being jealous people!’

Billie wrote in response: ‘Thanks ❤️ I don’t normally comment…but I can see this has caused quite a stir in my feed.

“ITV does not and never has paid for our holidays… we pay for our own holidays and we film a reality TV show that follows our lives, including tracking our holidays during filming periods.”

A troll had previously posted under the holiday snaps, “How many free vacations per year?”

Another said, ‘Why brag about it? While some people can’t even pay their bills!’

Someone else wrote, “Another vacation!”, while another wrote, “Another incredible vacation.”

A fourth said: ‘It’s great when you get free holidays, because I know you’ve been there many times!’

Another troll said, “Not a good post if people are struggling to pay their bills.”

It comes after Billie and her mother Suzie Wells revealed their impressive numbers on Thursday as they enjoyed family holidays in the Maldives.

Billie and her mum, 54, looked fabulous in swimwear and took time to relax and unwind.

Samantha Faiers sister Billie posed for a sweet photo with her husband Greg Shepherd, standing on a swing in a plunging red bikini.

She captioned her post with a heart emoji and two palm trees while spending quality time with her husband.

Meanwhile, Suzie donned a blue and white striped bikini, grinning broadly and seemingly carefree as she embraced life in paradise.

Adding a straw hat and sunglasses to the ensemble, the beauty wrote on Instagram, “Loving life in the Maldives,” with a heart emoji.

Earlier this month, Billie insisted her kids aren’t affected by fame, despite starring in their reality show Billie & Greg: The Family Diaries.

She is a mother of three and shares eight-year-old daughter Nelly, five-year-old son Arthur and three-month-old daughter Margot with her husband Greg.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, Billie explained that her older kids are unfazed by being in the spotlight because that’s all they’ve ever known.

She added that she and Greg encouraged Nelly and Arthur to be open about their feelings and insisted they stop filming if the kids decided they didn’t want to be a part of the show anymore.

She said: ‘We have always said that our priority is the children, we must think of them first.’

“But Nelly said the other day, ‘Oh mommy, some of my friends have seen us on TV!’ But it’s really funny because it didn’t really affect them.

“Obviously me and Greg don’t know what it’s like because we weren’t on a TV show when we were younger.

‘But it’s normal for them and their friends not to be shocked. I tell the kids we’re a normal family, but it’s just our job to film for a TV show.’

Billy added: ‘We are always honest in our house and we say to the children: Is something bothering you?’

She joked, “And I know Nelly and Arthur certainly wouldn’t be shy about telling us if something was up!”

‘Fortunately they haven’t had a problem so far and hopefully for longer, because they don’t know any other way.

‘The kids don’t even pay attention to the cameras, they just don’t get scared. We film with the children, but there are no expectations for them. If they want to participate, they will.

“One day they’ll say I don’t want to do it anymore and we’ll just find a new format.”
