Chilling CCTV shows moment evil killer led woman back to her flat hours before stabbing her

This is the chilling moment when CCTV shows an evil female killer leading her victim she had just met back to her flat just hours before stabbing her to death.

Birute Klicneliene, 51, was given a life sentence after she killed mother Dace Kalkerte, 50, in a brutal attack on April 15 last year.

Ms Kalkerte was stabbed 16 times and suffered nine other injuries in the frenzied attack at Klicneliene’s first floor flat in King’s Lynn, Norfolk.

CCTV – from 9:55pm that evening – captured the pair chatting as they walked back together through a park to the victim’s flat just hours before the murder.

They had met a few hours earlier while drinking with their respective partners at an allotment in town earlier that night.

Police were called to the flat in Highgate after midnight on 16 April to find that Mrs Kalkerte had been stabbed.

She was rushed to hospital but died at 2:28 a.m. from a fatal stab wound to the stomach.

In a statement read in court, Ms Kalkerte’s husband said he is now the caretaker of their daughter – who was in the flat when her mother was murdered and saw her covered in blood – and that he is now doing his job had to give up. Lynn News reported.

Prosecutor Andrew Jackson said, “The affidavit makes it clear that Dace was an incredible mother.

“They lost her in the most horrific and cruel way.

“There was no premeditation, it seems a whim, but it was still an excessive and persistent attack.”

When Klicneliene was first questioned by police, she denied killing her and said she fell asleep when the women returned to the flat.

She claimed she initially thought Dace – who was on the floor when she woke up – was drunk.

She said she didn’t realize until she picked her up that Dace was losing blood.

Klicneliene told detectives she may have touched the blood-stained knife when she moved and blamed the murder on an unknown man.

But there was no indication that there was an unknown person in the flat at the time of the murder who was responsible for Dace’s death.

When officers first arrived at the flat after calling 911, Klicneliene’s clothes were covered in blood, but her hands were clean.

Klicneliene was sentenced yesterday by Norwich Crown Court to life in prison and sentenced to a minimum of 18 years after a jury unanimously convicted her of murder.

Senior Detective Detective Superintendent Chris Burgess said: ‘Klicneliene used a knife to kill Dace – a woman she had met just hours earlier and who had invited her to her home – in a sustained and brutal attack.

“She has always denied killing Dace and we may never know why she committed such deliberate and targeted violence, but it has no place in our society.

“Thankfully incidents like this are rare in Norfolk and today my thoughts remain with Dace’s family who continue to mourn their loss.

“They have shown incredible courage throughout this ordeal and I thank them for their support during this very difficult time.

“We will continue to support them as long as they need us.”
