Three police officers have been hospitalized after they were allegedly attacked by a teenage girl while responding to reports of a fight.

A major street riot at a tram stop on Gold Coast Hwy near Broadbeach, Queensland, was attended by police at 10pm Friday.

A 15-year-old girl was taken into custody after a 39-year-old man suffered multiple facial injuries during the alleged brawl.

After the teen was arrested, police said she became “agitated.”

She allegedly assaulted a male sergeant, a male officer and a female officer, all of whom suffered facial and body injuries, police said.

The three officers were taken to Pindara Private Hospital for treatment.

The teenager has been charged with three counts of assaulting a police officer and is due to appear before Southport Children’s Court at a later date.

Police said a further five teenagers, aged between 14 and 16, were being treated under the Youth Justice Act for their alleged involvement in the brawl.

The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
