Pokémon Go Togetic Community Day guide

pokemon go has a Togethertic Community Day event April 15 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. local time.

As expected at a Community Day event, Togetic will spawn in huge numbers with a high chance of looking shiny. There are also several other bonuses and benefits, which we have listed below.

How do I catch a Shiny Togetic?

This is according to research from the Pokémon community site Silph Road, Shiny percentages on Community Days are about 1 in 24meaning if you keep playing throughout the three-hour window, you should find quite a few shiny Pokémon.

If you’re short on time or Poké Balls, you can get one Incensethen quickly tap each Togetic to check for shiny ones, walking away from any that aren’t shiny. Specifically, any Togetic you’ve already tapped will face where your player is standing, so that should help identify which ones you may have already checked.

Which Community Day movement is learning the evolution of Togetic?

If you evolve Togethertic in Togekiss between 2pm and 10pm in your local time, it will learn a fighting type attack Aura sphere.

If you can’t develop it during this time, you can probably develop it during a Community Day weekend event in December to get Aura Sphere. If you don’t want to wait, you can use an Elite TM to get started.

How is Togekiss doing in the meta?

Good fairy-type Pokémon are few and far between, but Togekiss holds its weight in PvE content (gyms and raids). It’s bulky with a solid moveset, so we’d recommend having one or two on deck. Set it up with Charm and Dazzling Gleam and you’re done.

What about Community Day movement Aura Sphere? In PvP, typing combat won’t move the needle much where Togekiss will be in the meta, though early analysis by JRE47 on The Silph Road subreddit suggests it could replace Flamethrower as an ideal second move, especially since it will better pit Togekiss against steel and rock types, who can be dominant in certain leagues and cups.

When it comes to raids, having Aura Sphere “isn’t that big of a deal,” according to analysis by Teban54 on the Silph Roadbecause – in short – while there are some circumstances where Aura Sphere will outperform Dazzling Gleam, those examples (against Darkrai, Kyurem, and Terrakion) are few and far between.

How do I get the most out of Society Day?

The following bonuses are active during the Togetic Community Day:

  • 19/114 hatching distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event
  • Doubled candy for catching Pokémon
  • Doubled chance for Level 31+ Trainers to get XL Candies by catching Pokémon
  • Incense lasts three hours
  • Lure Modules last three hours
  • Togetic special photobombs when taking snapshots
  • An extra special trade
  • Stardust cost halved for trade

That said, you should definitely put your eggs in Incubators and pop an incense and try to get your hands on a powerful Togetic.

If you can Mega evolve Pidgeot, Aerodactyl, Gardevoir, Altaria, or Salamence, you’ll score extra Togepi Candy per catch thanks to the overlap of flying and fairy types.

In addition to all this, Niantic is still running special four-star attacks from 5pm to 10pm in your local time, where if you clear the Togetic attack, Togetic will spawn in a 300m radius around the gym for 30 minutes. These raids cannot be done remotely. If the usual increase in spawn between 2pm and 5pm doesn’t give you the Togetic you wanted, you can try raiding for another chance.
