She said that while a potato peeler’s blade may seem unnecessarily wobbly, it’s actually designed to speed up the process of peeling potatoes—and her tips didn’t stop there.

She said that while a potato peeler’s blade may seem unnecessarily wobbly, it’s actually designed that way to speed up the process of peeling potatoes.
In the clip, Jenn demonstrated how the loose blade rotates back and forth, meaning users can continuously move the utensil up and down.
So instead of swiping the peeler in one direction, lifting it up and then swiping it another way, you can simply peel in both directions.
“Did you know that the reason why potato peelers swing back and forth is that you can not only go down but also forward when you’re peeling, so you can peel the whole thing super fast?” said the kitchen hack expert.
