The Oregon Trail horror movie actually looks pretty good, or at least pretty fun

As anyone who played vaguely educational video games in the 90’s will tell you, the Oregon Trail was a very dangerous place. But in the trailer for the new frontier horror movie, Organ trackthere is much more than dysentery that threatens travelers on this treacherous journey. Organ track will hit theaters April 14 and stream on-demand starting May 12.

The film follows a family on their way to the Northwest Territories when they are overtaken by a ruthless band of bandits. The gang kills everyone except Abigale, who escapes but is lost in the wild west to outlive her pursuers. It looks like most of the movie will be about Abigale’s desperate attempt to survive, but the trailer ends with a little tease that there might be more than meets the eye with this ruthless gang or the horrors of the Oregon Trail . In addition, the film is called Organ trackso there’s probably a lot more blood and guts than this trailer shows.

Organ track is directed by Michael Patrick Jann (Drop dead beautifully) and with Olivia Grace Applegate (Euphoria), Mather Zickel (Rachel is getting married), and Zoé De Grand Maison (River valley).
