Adam Reynolds’ 250th NRL appearance has not gone according to plan with the Broncos superstar withdrawn early with a HIA.

Reynolds was surrounded by friends and loved ones ahead of Friday night’s game with the 32-year-old celebrating hitting the milestone after 10 years in the competition.

However, the halfback suffered a nightmare evening and was deemed unable to continue after being hit with a head knock during the first half at Suncorp Stadium.

The development came as a huge blow to Kevin Walter’s side, who are looking over their shoulders with their seemingly secure place in the finals now on a knife edge after a terrible run of form.

The Broncos’ woes continued in Brisbane with Mitchell Moses running riot for the visitors as the Eels stormed to a 22-0 lead.

A Brenko Lee try before the break saw the Broncos claw the deficit back to 16 points, but Clint Gutherson restored the Eels’ lead to give the hosts a big mountain to climb in the second half to get a result, without their star man.

More to follow.
