Jilted bride-to-be threatened to share sex tape of her ex on Instagram in bid to win him back

A spurned bride-to-be threatened to publicly share a sex tape of her ex-fiancée on Instagram in a bid to win him back after proudly boasting to him that she made nearly £2,000 by posting pictures of her feet on a fetish-like site.

Mom of one Amy Williams-Smyth, 31, sent her estranged ex Daniel Oates a screengrab of her earnings from adult channel AdmireMe-VIP in a twisted attempt to rekindle their whirlwind romance.

During a series of Williams-Smyth emails, a beautician said to Mr. Oates in a chilling boast, “Look how much I’ve made — if you want your half, come and get it.” Not bad for an hour’s work.’

She then vowed to publicly share intimate videos the couple had previously uploaded to the subscription-only social media channel, warning, “I’ve got more than this — you want to see me jealous, then make me jealous.”

Mr Oates, who had broken up with Williams-Smyth over her erratic behaviour, later called the police over fears that sexual images of him had been made public.

Daniel Oates told police the ordeal left him “sick, angry and upset.”

Inquiries revealed that the offending video was in fact of Williams-Smyth accusing the victim of cheating on her while she was scrolling through his phone contacts.

But Mr. Oates said, “I feared the worst. I was afraid to open the message because I thought she had posted images of me online. I felt sick, angry and upset. I hit rock bottom. It has deflated and made a huge impact.

“The only safe place was at work. I rarely go out now and only go to the gym because I’m there with my personal trainer.’

At Wigan Magistrate’s Court in Greater Manchester, Williams-Smyth of Skelmersdale was convicted of threatening to publish images of a sexual nature and banned from contacting Mr Oates for two years under a restraining order.

The court heard that the couple had met in December 2020 through the dating app Tinder, started dating the following month and moved in together in February 2021. Soon after, they announced their engagement on social media.

Mr Oates said: ‘The relationship was quite full in the beginning. I was single for four years before I met her and it was nice that she kept saying she liked me and that we were both interested in the same things.

“But shortly after we moved in together, we had our first episode. She had gotten into a fight with her boyfriend and she took it all out on me. Later we went to a tattoo convention and then we went back to hers and slept together.

“We were in bed watching Disney when she started using one. I told her it was over and she was never to contact me again and as far as I’m concerned the relationship ended on April 9th.’

The pair began a relationship that Mr Oates would later describe as ‘full on’

Mr Oates moved back in with his mother in Wigan, but ran into Williams-Smyth on April 12, shortly after he posted a selfie at the town’s Revolution bar socializing with his mates.

He was said to have become “upset” by her presence and eventually succumbed to heart problems in the bar. The court heard that Williams-Smyth had called 999 himself, but then pretended to be his girlfriend and even tried to take him to the hospital in the ambulance.

Mr Oates added: ‘I found out through friends that she tried to contact me via email while I was in hospital.

“When I got out I went for a walk and got a call from a hidden number, which I answered but hung up after realizing it was her. She was mad at me for not responding to her when I was in the hospital. She then sent me endless emails and even messaged me about a friend’s post that I liked on Facebook.”

Williams-Smyth also sent Mr Oates’ mother a WhatsApp message saying, “Wake up your son the best and tell him to become a man.”

Finally, on May 21, she emailed Oates herself saying, “Our photos are still on it.” She then sent an email saying ‘Look how much I’ve made from our sex tape, if you want your half to come and get it’ and attached was a screenshot of an Instagram post showing I had made £1821 with the AdmireMe.VP site mainly showing Williams-Smyth’s feet in a “foot fetish style.”

When Williams-Smyth was arrested, said the pair had sent sexually explicit content to each other on AdmireMe.VIP. She said she posted the video of her scrolling to Instagram only to “get back at him” after she claimed he threatened to tell her family she was on the sex site.

After the procedure, she was banned from contacting Mr. Oates for two years

She told the court: “Our relationship became very toxic and he told me I couldn’t contact my friends and he even controlled what I was wearing. We had a fight, but we didn’t break up. He always went back to his mother and we got back together.

“I took pictures of myself and uploaded them to AdmireMe. Daniel then signed a contract so that we could upload the photos to the website. He sat next to me when we did it because I can’t type very well.’

“The content we uploaded was mostly mine, although he did post a video of himself. However, we decided to remove it after he was put off by guys commenting on his photo.’

“Every week I had to send him the money we made from the videos because his own account was blocked due to financial problems. I ended up sending him the money in cash because he didn’t want his mother to find out.’

“He kept saying ‘I love you 3000′ every day. He would also send a message saying “what I would do to get my hands on you again.” Then he kissed girls in front of me to make me jealous.’

Williams-Smyth, who denied wrongdoing, was also released on parole for two years and told to pay £644 in costs. She was acquitted of a second stalking charge.

Deputy District Judge Asif Munir told her, “There was a threat to release images of a sexual nature. You essentially said cut off the other girl, stay with me or else and that’s a threat. These photos you posted on Instagram were taken without his permission.”
