Jamie Foxx had to be taken to hospital following an undisclosed medical emergency, his daughter Corinne Foxx revealed on Wednesday.

In a statement attributed to the actor’s family posted on her Instagram account, they wrote that the 55-year-old actor suffered a “medical complication” that required him to be taken to hospital.

The family also said in the statement that Foxx was now “on the road to recovery,” though they did not reveal what medical issue he was suffering from.

But one source described the problem TMZ in more serious terms, they called it a “medical emergency,” though they said Foxx was now “communicating” again.

“We just wanted to share that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday [Tuesday],” the family statement began.

“Fortunately, with quick action and good care, he is already on his way to recovery,” they continued.

“We know how loved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy at this time.”

Sources confirmed to TMZ that Foxx’s unnamed condition was indeed serious enough to require him to be hospitalized.
