Dad claims he’s captured an ‘angel’ on his Ring doorbell

A father claims he has captured an ‘angel’ watching over his family on his Ring doorbell and believes it may be the ghost of his dead father.

Robert Mansfield, from Beaumont Leys, Leicestershire, was stunned when partner Stephanie Scott, 31, showed him a clip of her and their son Oskar returning from a dog walk last month.

As the couple approaches their front door with the Maltese and Pomeranian cross Klo, a white spot appears in the night sky and floats upward until it disappears.

In a viral Facebook post, the 33-year-old claims he caught “a flying angel” on camera and even says his wings are visible as he flies above the street.

He has since revealed that his family has had a “difficult time” since Klo, two, was attacked by another dog and lost an eye, so the footage has brought “comfort” to them.

Robert says he believes an angel is “watching over them” and that it could be his late father Mick Mansfield, who died at age 44 when Robert was only 14 years old.

The intriguing clip has been viewed almost 50,000 times and opinions are divided. Some call it “beautiful,” while others are convinced it mirrors seven-year-old Oskar’s coat.

The father-of-three has dismissed the claims, saying he has “investigated” other times his son wore the coat and the same white spot was not present in the footage.

Robert said: ‘We’ve had a rough time lately, so when you see something like this you think someone is watching you.

“We always say that my father is my children’s guardian angel, so something like that is heartwarming. It could be him.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it before, it was amazing and it gave us comfort.

“When Stephanie showed it to me she asked if it’s an angel because you can see the wings flapping.

“I told her it can’t be because I’m not a big fan of that kind of thing, but when I looked at it I was really surprised and realized it could actually be something.”

“People have said it’s a reflection on the jacket and I’ve done some research. He’s used that coat a lot of times and nothing ever shows up on the doorbell camera.

“If you look closely, the lights get bright, and when they disappear, they get dim. That can’t be a reflection.’

Stephanie saw the apparition during their regular doorbell camera checks.

The dog walk marked Klo’s first time off their property since he was attacked by an intruding dog in his own yard.

Robert’s Facebook post, which has been shared more than 90 times, said: ‘Can’t believe me and Steph caught a flying angel on our doorbell. You can see the wings, the lot.’

One comment: ‘No way!!!! There’s no doubt about that!!’

Another wrote: “Certainly not a reflection, for it seems as if the angel’s wings are fluttering.”

A third added: “Omg that’s so beautiful.”

However, one commented, “I’ve watched this over and over and I think it kind of reflects the people walking!”

“When you watch her disappear from the camera, so does the reflection.”

Another agreed, writing, “That’s the reflection of the boy’s coat.” Many footy boys wore these during the day as it hinders the cameras from capturing the offenders’ faces.’
