Mel graduated from Brunel University with a BSc Sports Science degree and has since worked towards a range of level one and two coaching qualifications.

She did a range of exercises, including squats, lunges, abs and impressive pull-ups, as well as arm workouts.

It comes after Carol opened up about her five “special friends” who she’s in a relationship with.
In an interview with You magazine, she has said that it all works very well because she does not want to be in love and is not a jealous person.
Carol said her lovers are all single – and she said she wouldn’t mind if one of her lovers fell for someone else and moved on.
One thing that has definitely connected Carol to a younger generation is her attitude to dating and her willingness to talk about it openly, if not in prudish detail.
“Oh yes, yes, my ‘special friends,'” she said. “I’m going to continue with that system and it’s working really well.”
There are five. She said, “One has been a friend for eleven years, the other for seven years. My children [Katie, 31, and Cameron, 25]know most of them.’
Carol admitted she enjoys the independence and freedom the setup gives her, saying it’s okay if her partners want more intimacy than it offers, “as long as you’re all honest and having a good time.”
Everyone involved is single – she operates on the principle that you ‘must do no harm’ – and if you were meeting someone else, it would be fine.

She continued, “I’m not a jealous person and I’m happy when my friends are happy, whether they’re “special friends” or not.
‘The purpose of my life is to be happy, not to be in love. I just find people interesting and life interesting.
“And you can get on a stage where you choose which bits you like. You can’t do that in your 30s because you’re making your way through your career, you’re beholden to bosses and all that sort of thing. But if you’re in your 60s…”
Carol has been single since she split from journalist Des Kelly in 2007, having been married twice, first to Christopher Mather from 1985 to 1986 and then to second husband Patrick King from 1990 to 2000 – the father of her two children.
She has become something of a social media star thanks to some of her sexy posts in which she wears figure-hugging workout clothes and dresses.
An icon of body positivity almost by default, she’s unbothered by the recent return of skinny models to the catwalks.
“That’s just fashion,” she says. “I’ve always had a big a**e.”
Carol trains in the gym and is an outspoken advocate of health treatments: fasting, turmeric, hyperbaric oxygen therapy…
To stimulate mitochondria in regenerating cells and help prevent dementia, she takes spermidine tablets. “Named what you might imagine, because that’s where it was first found,” she laughed.
“But that’s not what these tablets are made of.”
She watches what she drinks ‘because I can’t handle the hangover’, hasn’t had surgery and admits to having botox and P3 facial injections.
“Name me someone on TV, male or female, of any age, who doesn’t have this stuff!” she says. “But often I don’t comb my hair for days.”
