Sir Rod Stewart performs in Auckland, New Zealand

Tonight is the night! Sir Rod Stewart, 78, is the ultimate showman as he performs his greatest hits on stage in New Zealand

Sir Rod Stewart is loved all over the world for his hoarse hits.

And the rocker, 78, busted out his chart hits in front of an adoring crowd at Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand, on Sunday.

The Maggie May superstar, who is on his Farewell Tour, looked the part of a legendary rocker in a zebra print blazer, white shirt, waistcoat and pinstripe trousers.

He completed his look with a gold necklace, matching bracelet and a striking belt.

Rod was clearly in his element as he stretched out his arms and sang to the crowd.

Rod traveled to New Zealand from Australia where he had a number of concert dates.

He also seemed to enjoy his time in Sydney.

The star was recently caught leaving behind the trappings of fame enjoying a ferry ride to Manly, a beachside suburb in northern Sydney.

The Sailing superstar looked every inch the sun-seeking Brit that day in a loose-fitting white shirt, cardigan and white trousers and sneakers.

He completed his look with a golf hat and shoulder bag, and carried an umbrella to brave the recent rain in the city.

Rod certainly enjoyed himself in between concerts on his farewell tour.

While in New South Wales he also went to the Woodpecker Model Railways shop in Pendle Hill to find toy trains to add to his collection.

Rod is an avid model train collector who has spent 30 years designing an American model city in his home in England.

The sighting comes after he rescheduled his anticipated concert at Mt Duneed Estate, which he performed with Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens.

In a statement he aired last month, the rock star said he was “feeling great” and asked fans to “please hold onto your tickets.”

The best-selling music artist told his fans that he was doing well after a bout of strep throat.

Roundhouse Entertainment executive Michael Newton said he was “thrilled” that they were able to “find a free date” for Rod, Cyndi and Jon to do a catch-up gig.
