A woman was reportedly stabbed to death in a horrific domestic violence incident that horrified neighbors.

Police were called to a block on Church Avenue in Sydney’s Mascot at around 6:10 pm on Easter Sunday, where a woman in her 50s was found with knife wounds.

Paramedics desperately tried to resuscitate the woman, but she sadly died on the spot.

“Police have identified a crime scene, which will be examined by a specialist forensic police force, and have launched an investigation,” NSW Police said in a statement.

“A 61-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Mascot police station, where he is assisting police in their investigation.”

The alleged victim has yet to be formally identified.

“I live on the corner and I saw a lot of police cars,” said a local resident.

“I am so nervous and sad for the family. It’s so bad and it’s really scary.’
