Tom Burgess is CLEARED by the NRL despite low blow on rival

Tom Burgess is REGISTERED by the NRL despite dealing a ‘disgusting’ low blow to Bulldogs rival in South Sydney’s dominant win on Good Friday

Tom Burgess has escaped punishment for his ‘prank act’ after fans saw the Rabbitohs star deliver a low blow to his rival from Canterbury on Friday night.

Latrell Mitchell stole the show at the Accor Stadium when he grabbed a hat-trick to help Jason Demetriou’s side to a dominant victory over their NRL rivals on Good Friday.

But eagle-eyed fans saw a grub act from the England striker in the 12th minute of the second half as he left Bulldogs star Josh Reynolds in a heap after appearing to squeeze his genitals with his left arm.

Referee Gerard Sutton, despite protests from Reynolds, did not see the incident nor did the Bunker judge it, and Burgess’ act went unpunished.

And now the NRL has confirmed no charges have been brought against any player who took part in last night’s match at the Accor Stadium, meaning Burgess is clear.

Still, he hasn’t won favor with NRL fans on social media, who have been quick to condemn the 30-year-old.

“Funny that Tom Burgess can’t hold balls most of the time,” one fan posted. ‘What a mess.’

“I already had the ball. Decided he had to get two more,” said another.

“What an absolute grub act this was from Burgess,” a third fan added.

It is not yet clear whether the incident is being investigated by the judiciary.
