MAFS’ Tahnee Cook slams fame-hungry contestants and says she’s glad she and ‘husband’ Ollie Skelton got ‘zero airtime’

Tahnee Cook and Ollie Skelton were definitely the golden couple of Married At First Sight this year.

However, 28-year-old bride Tahnee has said that she and her on-screen husband got “zero airtime” despite being very popular with viewers.

The PR manager, who was also creating content with more than 40,000 followers on her social channels before the show started, also beat contestants going for fame on the TV show.

Speak against The Daily Telegraphshe said, “Obviously you’re aware of the opportunities that might come your way when you’re on the show, but I don’t think that should be your reason to keep going.”

Tahnee added that the audience is “not stupid” and can see through contestants who are starving for fame and not really looking for love.

Since Tahnee and Ollie were just one of two couples still going strong as of this year’s season alongside Melinda Willis and Layton Mills, viewers have been calling on a number of contestants to join the show for fame.

Channel 9 recently received backlash as it was reported that it will be banning future contestants who have previously appeared on reality shows.

However, many of this year’s brides and grooms have been on the small screen before, including Evelyn Ellis who was on Big Brother UK in 2016.

Alyssa Barmonde has also appeared in Judge Judy and Adam Seed has appeared in two reality shows in the UK: Dinner Date and Road Trip.

Despite Tahnee’s interest in creating online content, she has insisted that her ultimate goal in continuing MAFS was to find love.

“Ollie and I have zero airtime, but we’re happy, people still get to see our personalities and who we are,” she said.

“We’re pretty chill about things. My goal was to find a partner and everything else was a bonus.’

The Sydneysider added that her and Ollie’s genuineness could be why they had a “point of difference” with the other contestants and are still happily in love.

Since filming the show, Ollie has moved from Perth to Sydney to live with Tahnee and they have now rented a new house together in Bondi.

The pair have even talked about starting a family together, saying they’ve already discussed baby names.
