Apple weather app is down AGAIN: iPhone users say they’ve been hit by second outage in 48 hours

Apple’s weather app appears to have crashed for the second time in 48 hours.

Instead of displaying live forecasts, the app displays a blank screen with the locations selected by users.

While the system health site for Apple doesn’t indicate any issues, many users have shared the outage on Twitter.

“Apple’s weather app just gave up on life,” one user shared, pointing out that the app crashed on Tuesday.

DailyMail.com has contacted Apple for comment.

Users have shared their displeasure with the outage on social media.

One of them tweeted a screenshot of “Now weather data” with the caption, “And to think this has been resolved.”

And another person posted, “With Dark Sky gone and the Apple Weather app falling apart, where are yinz getting you again?”

The previous outage was Tuesday, but the Weather app was accessible through watchOS, according to the app 9to5Mac.

The precipitation, temperature and air quality maps still worked.

Other popular Apple services, such as the App Store and Apple Music, still worked properly.

Users also took to Twitter to express their confusion over the outage.

One said, ‘Who cares? #AppleWeather is down again? What is happening? I can’t function without my weather.’

Another added: “Weather app is down so now I don’t know what to wear tomorrow.”

The official Twitter page for Apple Support responded to disgruntled users, saying it is “looking into the issue” and asked them to direct any questions they may have.

Some say Tuesday’s problems with the Weather app started right after the iOS 16.4 update, which came out last week.

The new operating system has many new features, including adding 21 new emojis to the keyboard.

This includes the long-awaited pink heart icon, a shaking face (“I’m shook”), a moose, stem ginger, the Wi-Fi symbol, and a pair of maracas.

The Weather app issues also come just a week after Apple briefly relaunched the popular Dark Sky weather forecasting app.

Dark Sky provided “hyper-local” weather forecasts by location, including minute-by-minute forecasts and smartphone alerts.

The tech giant acquired the rival app in 2020, moved some features to its own Weather app and shut down the original early this year.

The copied features include lightning forecasts, 10-day forecasts, and severe weather alerts, which were installed as part of the iOS 16 update.

But the Dark Sky app temporarily came back to life last week due to an apparent server error on Apple’s end 9to5Mac.
