A Muslim teenage student from Monash University stood up for two Asian high school students who were abused by an elderly female passenger, enraging the commuter.

After witnessing the 50-year-old woman allegedly throw a cup of liquid at the two high school girls after they boarded a bus and then racially abused them, the teen confronted her.

“She raised her middle finger and started all those racist slurs you can think of, about Asian people, Japanese people, … anything racist,” the Muslim teen said.

“You don’t talk to young people that way,” she told the woman.

The response was an intensely foul-mouthed stream of racial abuse, the teen claimed in an interview with the Herald-Sun.
