Brentford goalkeeper David Raya ‘is on the radar of LaLiga’s top clubs’ ahead of a possible summer move…as Manchester United and Tottenham face setbacks in their hunt for the shot-stopper

Brentford goalkeeper David Raya could return to Spain this summer as a number of top LaLiga clubs keep an eye on his situation, according to reports.

Raya has spent the last 11 years in England after joining Blackburn Rovers’ academy in 2012, but is now approaching the final year of his Brentford contract.

The 27-year-old has previously revealed he has turned down two contract offers from his current employers, but looks set to stay in the Premier League beyond this season following interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

However, this may no longer be the case as a number of LaLiga teams are excited about the shot stopper, as reported by The Telegraph.

This news is likely to come as a blow to United and Spurs, who both face uncertainty when it comes to their No. 1 ranking ahead of next season.

David de Gea’s contract at Old Trafford expires at the end of the season and he has yet to sign a new contract.

He recently rejected an offer from the Red Devils, who want to keep the £375,000-a-week goalkeeper but on reduced terms.

Hugo Lloris has also been Tottenham Hotspur’s undisputed first choice for a decade, but the World Cup winner is now 36 and Spurs are looking for his successor as he approaches the final stages of his career.

Raya had looked like a strong option for both clubs, but they would now face stiff competition for his signature from some of Spain’s top teams.

Raya has shone at Brentford since joining the club in 2019, helping them to promotion from the Championship in 2021.

He has since established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in England’s top flight and has kept nine clean sheets this season, playing a key role in another impressive campaign for Thomas Frank’s side.
