Shania Twain, 57, defends her skinny CMT looks after fans outrage over revealing outfits

Shania Twain is 57 years old, looking better than ever and rocking two ultra-sexy, nude looks at Sunday’s CMT Awards in Austin, Texas.

And now the country pop singer has defended her sassy looks after some fans were upset by the skin-revealing ensembles.

She shared the looks on her Instagram feed and explained how the clothes made her feel.

She captioned the post, “For me, fashion is a powerful tool that helps convey my personality and express my creativity and other than hanging out with my friends for a night, it’s one of my favorite things about attending awards shows!”

“Life is too short to wear boring clothes!!”

Over the weekend, she walked the red carpet in a red and black Prabal Gurung Scarlet Butterfly Mesh Bodysuit with a butterfly print and matching long skirt with a slit all the way down to her hip.

She paired that look with a red wig and heels from Giuseppe Zanotti.

For the show, she wore a sparkly, purple, three-piece Chanel outfit that exposed her very tight midriff with thigh-high boots and a black cowboy hat.

And while Shania has every right to wear exactly what she wants, some of her fans weren’t in favor of her CMT looks.

One fan wrote: ‘Please stop trying to keep up with the youngsters and dress appropriately. Such a beautiful woman, I hope she doesn’t go the Madonna route.’

Another commenter wrote, “Can you please be real country again? A little embarrassed ngl… you’re not who you used to be. We miss the real Shania.’

Another quipped, “Why are you trying so hard to rename yourself?…I don’t get it.”

But Man! The singer of I Feel Like a Woman said, “fashion is a playground and I have a lot of fun with it.”

“Style and fashion are part of the country music experience for artists and fans alike,” she shared In style on Tuesday.

‘For me, creativity doesn’t stop with the music. Fashion is an extension of the whole story,” she added.

And she didn’t let the trolls put her down and told the outlet that she felt fantastic.

“The whole night was special to me,” she said.

And that confidence is quite new for the Giddy Up singer. She recently spoke about feeling comfortable in her own body this week as she embraces aging naturally.

The You’re Still the One singer admitted that she resisted plastic surgery and instead found ways to love her own skin instead of changing it.

But it wasn’t easy, as she remembered struggling with self-confidence issues over the years.

Shania admitted that sometimes she chose to keep the lights off in her bedroom because she didn’t like her reflection.

But when she opted for a confident nude photo shoot to get her mojo back, she remembered “forcing” herself through the period to successfully come out on the other side.

The singer told The mirror: “I say look in the mirror and be okay with it. I’m just getting older and weaker – if I hate myself now, what state will I be in five or ten years from now?’
