Social media was shocked when train passengers told the man whose seat had been taken to simply look elsewhere
Train passenger wins praise after insisting that a fellow passenger move from their reserved seat after she initially REFUSED
A train passenger who reserved his seat in the carriage in advance has been praised after asking a fellow passenger to move when she was in it.
The passenger appeared to be on a train in Belgium and filmed the exchange politely confronting the other passenger and posted the video to TikTok, which has since been viewed more than 7.8 million times.
While people were cringing at some points, people were impressed with the exchange, as the man, who posted with the username @mr_boris_becker, was undeterred by the awkwardness and stuck to his guns.
Despite a little resistance from the woman and another fellow passenger, she eventually got up from his seat and admitted that she understood his argument.
Comment on the TikTok video, other people said that they could not have handled the exchange in such a calm manner.

The clip begins with the man asking for his seat, which is taken by a woman who is initially hesitant to move and seems to suggest asking if he might look elsewhere – which he says is “going to be difficult.”
Reluctantly but understandingly, the woman then gets up to leave – but not before two other women, who don’t appear to be linked to her, chip in to suggest the TikToker, just try to find another place.
“But it’s my place,” you hear him say.
The other passenger then says, “But, you know.”
“But, you know, take it easy,” the TikToker hit back.
His comment section was flooded with praise for how calmly the situation was handled.
“The other girl should have minded her own business,” one commenter noted.
“They really weren’t mad about you asking about the house you bought,” another slammed.

A third hit: “The other woman who comes in is none of her business.”
Other people said the behavior of other passengers was “very rude.”
“How are they going to get mad at a place you paid for,” another commented.
Most commentators also seemed less annoyed with the woman taking the man’s seat, and more annoyed with interjections from others as she left.
“When she said ‘but, you know…’ my blood boiled,” one boiled.
Elsewhere, someone commented, “Worse than her taking his place is the other woman trying to justify why she should look for another seat.”
