A California woman is confused after realizing Australian Easter eggs are very different from those served in America.

Tate Wayne said she was “shocked” after learning that Australian eggs are made from chocolate, not plastic toys filled with sweet treats.

She explained that one of her friend’s friends is having an Easter egg swap and asked her to bring an egg.

This confused her as the plastic eggs filled with candy are ‘small’ and it didn’t seem enough for a nice exchange.

“I asked why are we only taking one, those things are kinda small,” she said.

“What do you mean, does that mean you’ve never hunted for Easter eggs?” asked one.

Tate was quick to respond, explaining that the Easter egg hunt was “huge” in the US, but that kids search for the plastic eggs – hoping to find good lollipops, presents and money stashed inside.

“OMG, you’re missing something. Easter chocolate tastes different. It is the best!’ said a woman.

She went on to explain that they have the little chocolate eggs at home.

“They’re usually just expanded or enclosed in the plastic ones,” she said.

The idea of large eggs made of chocolate puzzled her, but others agreed, saying they are also found all over Europe and New Zealand

Europeans and people from New Zealand said they also have giant chocolate eggs.

“It’s only America that’s different,” said one person.

Her American fans were intrigued.

“Love the idea of chocolate eggs, sounds delicious,” said one.

Others wondered how she made it through the week before Easter without realizing the eggs are different.

“Haven’t you seen them gathering on the supermarket shelves since Boxing Day?” a woman asked.
