“That was awks!” Alison Hammond gets a red face after not recognizing This Morning’s hairdresser during the makeover segment

She fills in for regulars Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby during the Easter holidays.

Alison Hammond got a red face on Tuesday’s This Morning after not recognizing her own hairdresser when he made a surprise appearance on the show.

The presenter, 48, introduced a makeover segment to be hosted by fashion guru Trinny Woodall and hairstylist Josh, but turned to co-host Dermot O’Leary to ask who he was.

In the segment, Trinny gave three This Morning viewers an incredible makeover, including a hair transformation and a stylish new wardrobe.

While Trinny worked with the guests during the show, Alison and Dermot went backstage to see how they were doing.

A confused Alison then turned to Dermot and asked, “Who is that man?” in reference to Josh standing next to Trinny.

Dermot then reminded her that Josh was part of This Morning’s glamor team, leading an aggrieved Alison to rush to correct herself.

She grabbed Dermot by the arm, turned to him and said, “That was awks.”

Trinny’s performance in the segment marked her first time back on the show since it was reported that she had divorced her boyfriend Charles Saatchi after 10 years.

Friends close to Trinny claim that her 20-year age difference with Charles has caused problems in their relationship.

But the recent change in personal life was not seen as she took over during the fashion segment and was all smiles while chatting.

She looked as fabulous as ever in the bright combination that showcased her refined sense of style.

Trinny completed the look with a striking round necklace and wore her dark brown locks in loose waves over her shoulders while opting for a slick red lip.

She confidently presented her segment alongside Josh Wood as hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary looked on.

It comes after her reported breakup with Charles.

Speak against The sun about the breakup, a friend claimed: Charles wants to slow down. He prefers quiet evenings at home, while Trinny thinks the opposite.

“She feels she’s in the prime of her life and wants to get out and about.”

Trinny has been dating Saatchi for 10 years — since he split from wife Nigella Lawson — but the makeup and beauty mogul said on Instagram on Friday that she was moving forward.

She posted, “It’s a new day, it’s a new dawn, it’s a new life.” She added, “I moved, but now I’ve moved.”

Saatchi, an advertising executive turned art collector, is said to be worth around £100 million. Trinny’s worth is unknown, but her beauty and skincare brand is said to be worth £180 million and rising. He declined to comment.

In a 2021 interview, Trinny said she had “grown up a lot” in the relationship, stating, “I don’t let myself get away with things, so if I have any kind of resentment, he’ll say, ‘Really, are you kidding me? ?’ And then I go upstairs and think, ‘Okay, now let me grow up.’

“I think that’s what happens when you’re with someone who’s been through a lot in their life, and there’s no one who supports my business and jobs anymore to be my champion.”

The pair began dating in 2013 after Saatchi’s first wife, Kay Hartenstein, reportedly drew up a short list of women he might want to date.

He had been single since splitting from food writer Nigella Lawson shortly after photos were published showing Saatchi holding her by the throat while having lunch at Scott’s in Mayfair.

He explained at the time that it was a “playful tiff” and accepted a police warning.

This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
