April Premium Bonds winners: We reveal prizes worth £1,000 and above
No April joke! Premium Bonds saver wins £1m prize from a bond bought just 10 months ago: we reveal this month’s luckiest winners
It was no April fools joke this month when Agent Million visited two Premium Bond holders to let them know they had won the £1 million jackpot prize.
One of the winners, based in Croydon, bought the winning bond just 10 months ago, in June 2022. They have saved a total of £25,000 in Premium Bonds.
The other winner, from Somerset, bought their winning bond in December 2014 and has the maximum £50,000.
Premium Bonds are one of the most popular savings products in the country and require a minimum of £25 to get started
Jill Waters, director of retail at NS&I, said: “A huge congratulations to our two winners from Somerset and Croydon, who must have been delighted that their Agent Million visit wasn’t an April Fool’s joke.”
One of this month’s winners has won £1 million in Premium Bonds after just ten months, while the other has waited almost ten years to hit the jackpot.
“This just goes to show that whether it’s months or years, customers across the country can gain big and feel the magic of Premium Bonds.”
Some notable winners
This month’s prize draw will award just over 5 million prizes worth a total of £331 million. There were nearly 120.5 billion bond numbers eligible for the drawing.
A bondholder based in Wandsworth, London, won a £100,000 prize with holdings of just £1,000, while a Wiltshire individual won £50,000 with a total of £800 after purchasing the winning bond in February 2009.
As a true sign of good things to come for those who wait, a bondholder in Australia will receive £25,000 with a total holding of just £114. They bought the winning bond in July 1976.
Similarly, a person in Glasgow will receive £10,000 from just £20 who bought the winning bond in November 1979.
And there was some beginner’s luck too, as a Durham bondholder who put his first £25,000 into Premium Bonds two months ago in February won £50,000.

More April 2023 winners
Premium Bonds remain the country’s most popular savings product with approximately 21 million people.
NS&I decided in March to increase the prize money to 3.3 percent – the highest percentage in more than 14 years.
At the current rate of 3.3 per cent, the odds of each £1 bond winning a prize remain 24,000 to 1 – but last month’s changes have now increased the number of prizes worth from £50 to £100,000.
