Providence basketball player Alyn Breed is SUSPENDED indefinitely by the school after being ‘charged with theft, vandalism and numerous firearms offences’

Providence suspended guard Alyn Breed indefinitely following her arrest Saturday.

Providence, Rhode Island police charged Breed, 22, with “numerous firearms offenses” as well as trespassing, theft, vandalism and taking someone’s car without permission, according to the Providence. Journal.

The 6-foot-3 junior, who has averaged 4.8 points and 2.4 rebounds this season, is no longer listed on the Friars’ online roster.

“Alyn Breed was charged with multiple misdemeanors for actions that occurred off campus on Saturday, April 1,” the school said in a statement.

“As a result of these charges, Breed has been determined by Athletic Director Steve Napolillo and Head Coach Kim English to be suspended from the men’s basketball team.

‘[He] you will not be allowed to participate in any other activities related to the sports department.’

‘[Providence] will follow its student conduct disciplinary process regarding this matter. At this time, there will be no further comments.

Breed, of Powder Springs, Ga., appeared in 88 games (30 starts) over the past three seasons with Providence.

The 22-year-old was part of the Providence team that lost to Kentucky 61-53 in the first round of March Madness last month.

The Rhode Island school entered the NCAA tournament as the 11th seed.
