Taylor also gave her fans a blast from the past when she donned a T-shirt that read “We’ll Never Get Together Again” while performing the 2012 hit song.
For another look, Taylor looked ethereal in a sheer white dress with a high neck and flowing train.
It comes after the star was honored with the Innovator Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards on Monday night.
While accepting the award, the singer-songwriter spoke about her desire to try new things instead of focusing on making tried-and-true music.
He also said that part of his secret was to give himself “permission to fail” while trying to change his career.
Taylor’s award was presented by her friend and tour mate Phoebe Bridgers, who appeared in an elegant black sleeveless satin gown with spaghetti straps and a flower on the chest.
The guitarist looked nervous as she serenaded Taylor, who she said inspired her when she was just starting to write her own songs.
“I love public speaking, I’m not shaking,” he joked at first.

Phoebe, who sported platinum-dyed hair, said she recognized as a child that the songs were “written by adults about their adult lives,” but had to improvise without that knowledge.
‘So when I started writing, I was just making stuff up. The songs suck, and I knew it,’ she said, to laughter from the audience.
But then he described listening to a country radio station in the car with his mother, who was in the audience, a few years later, and that’s when he had a revelation after being introduced to Taylor and one of her songs.
‘I heard a girl not much older than me, singing a song she wrote about her own life. And the song was really good. As I got older, so did Taylor, and so did her songs,” Phoebe said.
The awards ceremony was then followed by a video tribute in which several of Taylor’s friends and associates praised her as a performer and songwriter. Some had an obvious connection to Swift, while others seemed to just be fans, like Shang Chi star Simu Liu.
Among the star parade were Ed Sheeran, Selena Gomez, Queer Eye star Jonathan Van Ness, Miles Teller, Dolly Parton, Ice Spice, Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and Justin Timberlake.
Dolly noted how she and Taylor had similar career paths, having gone from country musicians to pop stars, and the two have also done the odd acting job.
Simu praised her ability to make “beautiful music” out of all the “negativity” she finds in the world, while Ed said Taylor’s Midnights single Anti-Hero was one of the best pop songs ever written.

Jonathan Van Ness saluted Taylor for standing up for ‘queer and trans people’ during his talking head segment.
Selena said Taylor didn’t “sign up” to be a “role model” to millions of fans, but it was something people just have “inherently inside of you.”
Taylor opened her speech by thanking her friends who appeared in the video, as well as her tour partner Phoebe.
She joked that she never woke up thinking she was going to “innovate some things,” but always tried to make the “best decision” for herself, whether or not there’s a track record of success for that approach.
Taylor said that people in his business often focused on what had “precedent” and that new ideas and approaches were not appreciated.
The folk singer thanked her fans for sticking with her, even as her makeup changed and she switched genders.
He concluded by noting that he gives himself permission to fail and urged his fans to give themselves the same permission.
