I’m 19 and live in my car full time – the only place I can shower is the gym, but I love my life

A teen has revealed that she lives in her car full time by choice – because of the “freedom” it gives her to travel.

Dayra Reynoso, 19, shared a clip on TikTok describing her unusual lifestyle, from the moment she wakes up in her small car in North Carolina until she heads to the gym to shower.

The woman, who runs a second-hand clothing brand on Instagram, said she loves living in her car for the “freedom” it gives her, writing, “The world is my oyster.”

The clip chronicles her outdoor lifestyle, from cooking her meals on a camping stove to performing her morning yoga routine in idyllic locations.

Ms Reynoso also shared how she takes advantage of her gym membership to shower, brush her teeth and replenish her supply of fresh water.

“I’m so thankful for 24/7 gyms,” she said. “You have a place to shower, exercise, do my business.

“I did my dishes there too, but you can also do your dishes by refilling your water pitcher at the gym.”

It’s not all plain sailing though, with the clip recording her getting a parking ticket.

In another TikTok, the teen explained why she lives the way she lives.

“I live in my car because I want to,” Ms. Reynoso said. ‘Why not? Anyone can live in their car for any reason. You have so much freedom.’

Ms Reynoso said the biggest problem with her lifestyle is that she can’t go to the toilet whenever she wants. “You have to plan it,” she said.
